বিষয়খালীতে মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের সাথে পাক বাহিনীরপ্রথম সম্মুখ যুদ্ধ দিবস আজ

আজ পহেলা এপ্রিল। ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে পাকহানাদার বাহিনীদের সাথে ঝিনাইদহ জেলার বিষয়খালীতে মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের সাথে বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসের প্রথম সম্মুখ যুদ্ধ হয়। দখলদার বাহিনী সংবাদ পায় ঝিনাইদহের মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা তাদেরকে আক্রমন করার জন্য বিষয়খালী বাজারের বেগবতী নদীর তীরে সংগঠিত হচ্ছে। পহেলা এপ্রিলের এই দিনে পাকবাহিনী যশোর ক্যান্টমেন্ট থেকে ভারী অস্ত্রে সজ্জিত হয়ে ঝিনাইদহ দখলের উদ্দেশ্যে এগিয়ে আসতে থাকে। এ আক্রমণের খবর জেলার মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা পেয়ে যান। তারা যুদ্ধের অন্যতম স্থান হিসেবে বেছে নেন বিষয়খালীর বেগবতী নদীর তীর। পাকবাহিনীকে রুখতে নদীর তীরের সেতু ভেঙ্গে গুড়িয়ে দেয় মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা। প্রায় ৮ ঘন্টা তুমুল যুদ্ধ হয়। নদীর তীরের সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে ব্যর্থ হয়ে পাকহানাদার বাহিনী ফিরে যায় যশোর ক্যান্টমেন্ট অভিমুখে। যাবার পথে পাকহানাদার বাহিনী চালালো বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে প্রথম ভয়াবহ হত্যাযজ্ঞ। আর সেই হত্যাযজ্ঞে শহীদ হন বিষয়খালী হাইস্কুলের ৭ম শ্রেণীর তরুন ছাত্র গোলাম মোস্তফা। এছাড়াও যারা সেদিন শহীদ হয়েছিলেন তারা হলেন, বুদ্ধিজীবি মায়াময় ব্যানার্জী, নূরুল ইসলাম মুন্সী, কাশেম আলী, শামছদ্দীন, জাহানারা বেগম, সিরাজ মিয়া, সদর উদ্দীন, দুখী মাহমুদ, আব্দুল কুদ্দুস, খলিলুর রহমান, কাজী নজির উদ্দিন, শমসের আলী ও বিষয়খালী গ্রামের কৃতি সন্তান মাহাতাব মুনিরসহ অসংখ্যা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে পাক বাহিনীকে রুখে দিতে নিজেদের প্রাণ উৎসর্গ করে। তাইতো ঝিনাইদহের অমিততেজী দামাল ছেলেরা দেশের ইতিহাসের যুদ্ধ বিজয়ের গৌরবের প্রথম মাইল ফলক স্থাপন করেন এই বিষয়খালী যুদ্ধে। এই যুদ্ধের কাহিনী প্রথমে বিবিসি, ফরাসী বার্তা সংস্থা ও অষ্ট্রেলিয়া রেডিও এবিসিতে প্রচারিত হয়। এই সম্মুখ যুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ গড়ে তুলেছিলেন যশোর সেনানিবাসের বেঙ্গল রেজিমেন্টের সৈনিক এবং ইপিআর এর জোয়ানরা, ঝিনাইদহ ক্যাডেট কলেজের হাবিলদারাসহ স্থানীয় বিষয়খালী গ্রামের সংগ্রামী জনতা। এই দিনটি প্রতিবছর বিষয়খালী তথা ঝিনাইদহবাসী পালন করে আসছেন। শহীদদের স্মরণে নির্মিত হয়েছে বিষয়খালী বাজারে স্মৃতিসৌধ ও “প্রথম সশস্ত্র প্রতিরোধ” নামের মুক্তিযুদ্ধ ভাস্কার্য। অভিযোগ আছে বিষয়খালী যুদ্ধে যারা শহীদ হয়েছিলেন, তাদের অনেকেই মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ভাতা পান না। তালিকায়ও তাদের নাম নেই।
