আইনজীবী সাইফুল হত্যা: দুই আসামি চন্দন ও রিপন রিমান্ডে
চট্টগ্রামে আইনজীবী সাইফুল ইসলাম আলিফ হত্যা মামলায় দুই আসামি চন্দন দাস ও রিপন দাসকে রিমান্ডে দিয়েছেন আদালত। শুক্রবার (৬ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুরে তাদের আদালতে হাজির করা চট্টগ্রাম মেট্রোপলিটন ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট কাজী শরিফুল ইসলাম চন্দনের ৭ দিন ও রিপনের ৫ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন।
চট্টগ্রামের পাবলিক প্রসিকিউটর (পিপি) অ্যাডভোকেট মফিজুল হক গণমাধ্যমকে বলেন, পুলিশ আসামিদের আদালতে হাজির করে ১০ দিনের রিমান্ড চেয়েছিল। কিন্তু আদালত একজনের সাত দিন ও আরেকজনের পাঁচ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করে। গত ২৬ নভেম্বর সম্মিলিত সনাতন জোটের মুখপাত্র ও সাবেক ইসকন নেতা চিন্ময় কৃষ্ণ দাসের জামিন আবেদন নাকচ হলে চট্টগ্রাম আদালত প্রাঙ্গণে তার অনুসারীদের সঙ্গে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সংঘর্ষ হয়। এক পর্যায়ে আদালতের পাশের একটি গলিতে আইনজীবী সাইফুল ইসলাম আলিফকে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়। এ ঘটনায় সাইফুলের বাবা জামাল উদ্দিন বাদী হয়ে ৩১ জনকে আসামি করে একটি হত্যা মামলা করেন। নিহত আইনজীবীর ভাইও ১১৫ জনকে আসামি করে আরেকটি মামলা করেন। এ হত্যাকাণ্ডে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে গত বৃহস্পতিবার কিশোরগঞ্জের ভৈরব থেকে চন্দনকে ও চট্টগ্রামের আনোয়ারা উপজেলা থেকে রিপনকে আটক করে পুলিশ।
পুলিশ জানায়, চট্টগ্রাম আদালত এলাকায় হত্যার ঘটনার একটি ভিডিও ফুটেজে কমলা রঙের টি-শার্ট ও কালো প্যান্ট পরা চন্দনকে (৩৫) ছুরি হাতে সাইফুলকে কোপ দিতে দেখা যায়। চন্দনের মাথায় ছিল হেলমেট। হত্যার পর তিনি আত্মগোপনে চলে যান। সিসিটিভি ফুটেজে হত্যার সময় রিপনকে লাল হেলমেট পরা ধারালো অস্ত্র বহন করতে দেখা যায়।
