যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে কোনোভাবেই কমানো যাচ্ছে না গুলির ঘটনা। এবার দেশটির রাজধানী ওয়াশিংটন ডিসিতে গোলাগুলিতে একজন নিহত হয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় পুলিশসহ আহত হয়েছেন আরও বেশ কয়েকজন। এক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে এবিসি নিউজ।প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, স্থানীয় সময় রবিবার (১৯ জুন) সন্ধ্যায় ওয়াশিংটন ডিসির একটি জনকীর্ণ এলাকায় গোলাগুলি ও হতাহতের এই ঘটনা ঘটে।ওয়াশিংটন ডিসির মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ বিভাগের একজন মুখপাত্র সংবাদমাধ্যম ফক্স নিউজকে বলেছেন, চারজনকে গুলি করা হয়েছে। গুলিবিদ্ধদের মধ্যে একজন পুলিশ কর্মকর্তাও রয়েছেন।
তবে শহরের ওই জায়গাটি ব্যস্ত এলাকা হওয়ায় তিনি পাল্টা গুলিবর্ষণ করেননি।
তিনি পরে জানান, গুলিবিদ্ধদের একজন ১৫ বছর বয়সী কিশোর। ঘটনাস্থলেই তাকে মৃত ঘোষণা করা হয়। এছাড়া আহতদের বাকি দু’জন প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক এবং ওই পুলিশ অফিসার।
তিনি আরও বলেন, আহত পুলিশ কর্মকর্তাকে শরীরের নিচের অংশে গুলি করা হয়েছে এবং আশা করা হচ্ছে, তিনি বেঁচে থাকবেন। আহত প্রাপ্তবয়স্কদের স্থানীয় হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়েছে।
মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ ডিপার্টমেন্টের এই প্রধান বলেন, স্থানীয় সময় সন্ধ্যা ৬টার দিকে এই গোলাগুলি শুরু হয়। অনুমতি ছাড়াই আয়োজন করা একটি অনুষ্ঠানে গোলাগুলির এই ঘটনা ঘটে।
