ঝিনাইদহ-৪ সংসদীয় আসনের সংসদ সদস্য ও কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের সভাপতি আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনারকে নৃশংসভাবে হত্যা ও পরিকল্পনাকারীদের দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি ও ফাঁসির দাবিতে মানববন্ধন করেছে কালীগঞ্জ পৌর ব্যবসায়ী সমিতি। বৃহস্পতিবার (৩০ মে) সকালে শহরের জনতা মোড়ে কালীগঞ্জ পৌর ব্যাসায়ী সমিতির সভাপতি আসাদুজ্জামানের সভাপতিত্বে ঘন্টাব্যাপি এ মানবন্ধন কর্মসূচী পালিত হয়। এ সময়ে এমপি আনারকে হত্যার পরিকল্পনাকারীদের ফাঁসি চাই, এমপি আনার নিখোঁজ হলে সন্ধান চাই, হত্যা করা হলে দেহাবশেষ ও আলামত চাই প্লেকার্ড ব্যবাসায়ীদের হাতে দেখা যায়।
এ সময়ে বক্তরা বলেন কালীগঞ্জ পৌর ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির প্রধান উপদেষ্টা আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার ব্যবসায়ী নেতা হিসাবে তার উত্থান হয়েছিল। ব্যবসায়ীদের সুখে দুখে তিনি সবসময় পাশে থাকতেন। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে একটি মহল এমপি আনারের আকাশচুম্বী জনপ্রিয়তার কারনে তাকে হত্যা করেছে। ব্যবসায়ী নেতারা আরো বলেন এমপি আনার হত্যাকান্ডের রহস্য উন্মোচন করে হত্যাকারীদের দ্রæত বিচার নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। তা না হলে আমরা কঠোর কর্মসূচী দিতে বাধ্য হব। এ সময়ে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এমপি আনোয়ারুল আজীম আনারের কনিষ্ঠ কন্য মুমতারিন ফেরদৌস ডরিন, কালীগঞ্জ পৌরসভার মেয়র আশরাফুল আলম আশরাফ, কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা আওয়ামী যুবলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক জাহাঙ্গীর হোসেন সোহেল, পৌর ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির সাধারণ সম্পাদক ইন্তাদুল হক ইন্তা, সহ-সাধারণ সম্পাদক আল-আমিন, সহ-সাধারণ সম্পাদক আকতার হোসেন দোলা, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক জহুরুল হক বিপ্লব, সহ-সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক সুজল দেবনাথ, সহ-সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক হুমায়ুন কবির, ক্রিড়া ও সাংস্কৃতিক সম্পাদক মাইনুল হোসেন, কার্যনির্বাহী সদস্য মেহেদী হাসান বাবু, মাজেদুল ইসলাম, রেজাউল ইসলাম, মটর মালিক সমিতির সভাপতি ফরিদ উদ্দিন, সোনার বাংলা ফাউন্ডেশনের নির্বাহী পরিচালক শিবুপদ বিশ্বাসসহ বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি পেশার মানুষ।
