কুমিল্লায় শিশু শিক্ষার্থী ধর্ষণের পর হত্যা: যুবকের মৃত্যুদণ্ড
কুমিল্লার চৌদ্দগ্রামের গজারিয়া সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের তৃতীয় শ্রেণির ছাত্রী তাওহীদা ইসলাম ইলমাকে তেঁতুল খাওয়ানো কথা বলে মুখে ও গলায় ওড়না পেচিয়ে ধর্ষণের পর হত্যা করে লাশ নদীতে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়। সেই ঘটনায় করা মামলার আসামি মোহাম্মদ আলী ওরফে বাপ্পী নামের এক যুবককে মৃত্যুদণ্ড আদেশ দিয়েছেন আদালত।
মঙ্গলবার (২ এপ্রিল) দুপুরে কুমিল্লার নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন দমন ট্রাইব্যুনাল-১ এর বিচারক জেলা ও দায়রা জজ মোহাম্মদ আবদুল্লাহ আল-মামুন এ রায় দেন।
নিহত ইলমা গজারিয়া গ্রামের দেলোয়ার হোসেনের মেয়ে এবং মৃত্যুদণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত আসামি হলেন একই গ্রামের মো. জাকারিয়ার ছেলে মোহাম্মদ আলী ওরফে বাপ্পী।
জানা গেছে, ২০১৯ সালের ১৫ মার্চ বিকালে তাওহীদা ইসলাম ইলমাকে (৯) খোঁজাখুঁজি করে না পাওয়ায় আসামি মোহাম্মদ আলী ওরফে বাপ্পী নিজেই অটোরিকশা-মাইক ভাড়া করে এলাকায় মাইকিং শুরু করে। এতে বাদীর সন্দেহ সৃষ্টি হয় এবং আসামি বাপ্পীকে আটক করে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে কোনো তথ্য না পেয়ে তাকে ছেড়ে দেন স্থানীয় লোকজন। পরদিন সকালে ডাকাতিয়া নদীতে ইলমার লাশ কাঁথা মোড়ানো অবস্থায় দেখতে পেয়ে স্থানীয়রা নদী থেকে লাশটি তুলে চৌদ্দগ্রাম থানা পুলিশকে খবর দেয়। এ ঘটনায় পুলিশ বাপ্পিকে পুনরায় আটক করে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করলে সে শিশু শিক্ষার্থীকে ধর্ষণের পর হত্যার কথা স্বীকার করে। সে পুলিশকে জানায়, তেঁতুল খাওয়ানোর প্রলোভন দেখিয়ে শিশুটিকে তার ঘরে নিয়ে মুখে ও গলায় ওড়না পেঁচিয়ে ধর্ষণ করে। একপর্যায়ে শিশুর গলায় গামছা পেঁচিয়ে শ্বাসরোধ করে হত্যা করে লাশ কাঁথা দিয়ে পেঁচিয়ে ডাকাতিয়া নদীতে ফেলে দেয়। এ ঘটনায় ওইদিন ইলমার পিতা দেলোয়ার হোসেন বাদী হয়ে বাপ্পীকে আসামি করে চৌদ্দগ্রাম থানায় হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করেন। এ মামলার তদন্ত শেষে পুলিশ ২০১৯ সালের ২ জুন বাপ্পী ও একই গ্রামের আবুল কালামের ছেলে মো. মিজানের (২২) বিরুদ্ধে আদালতে অভিযোগপত্র দাখিল করে।
রাষ্ট্রপক্ষের আইনজীবী প্রদীপ কুমার দত্ত জানান, এ মামলায় আদালত ১০ জন সাক্ষ্যগ্রহণ করেছেন এবং মঙ্গলবার আসামি বাপ্পীকে মৃত্যুদণ্ড ও ৫০ হাজার টাকা অর্থদণ্ডের রায় দেন এবং অপর আসামি মো. মিজানকে বেকসুর খালাস প্রদান করেন। রায় ঘোষণার সময় আসামিরা আদালতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
আসামি পক্ষের আইনজীবী মো. আতিকুল ইসলাম বলেন, রায়ের কপি হাতে পেলে উচ্চ আদালতে আপিল করব।
