ঝিনাইদহের কোটচাঁদপুরে বাল্যবিবাহের আয়োজন করায় ছেলের বাবাকে ২৫ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা করেছে ভ্রাম্যমাণ আদালত। মঙ্গলবার (৬ জানুয়ারি) রাতে এ অভিযান চালান উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার ও এক্সিকিউটিভ ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট উছেন মে। সংশ্লিষ্ট সুত্রে জানা যায়, কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলার কোলাবাজার ইউনাইটেড মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ের দশম শ্রেণীর শিক্ষার্থী শ্রী দুলাল কুমার দাসের মেয়ে শ্রাবন্তী দাস (১৪) কে কোটচাঁদপুর উপজেলার দোড়া ইউনিয়নের ভোমরাডাঙ্গা গ্রামের দাস পাড়ার শ্রী মদন কুমার দাসের বাড়িতে ছেলে আকাশ কুমার দাস (১৯) এর সাথে বিয়ের প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে অভিভাবকরা। তখন গোপন সুত্রে খবর পেয়ে ভ্রম্যমান আদালত পরিচালনা করেন উপজেলা প্রশাসন। এ সময় বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ আইন ২০১৭/ ৮ ধরায় ছেলের বাবা শ্রী মদন কুমার দাস কে (২৫) হাজার টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়। সে সময় মেয়েকে তার বাবা দুলাল কুমার দাসের কাছে বুঝিয়ে দেন। ছেলে, মেয়ে ও তাদের পিতামাতা এই মর্মে অঙ্গীকার করেন যে মেয়ের বয়স ১৮ ও ছেলের বয়স ২১ বছর পূর্ণ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত মেয়ে তার বাবা বাড়িতে থাকবে, মেয়েকে পড়াশুনা করার জন্য নিয়মিত স্কুলে পাঠাবে এবং ছেলের সাথে যোগাযোগ করবে না। এ সময় ভ্রাম্যমাণ আদালতের অভিযানে উপজেলা মহিলা বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তা শিলা বেগম, লক্ষিপুর পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির আই সি উপপরিদর্শক এস আই মিজান, উপজেলা প্রশাসনের কর্মকর্তা সহ পুলিশের একটি চৌকস দল উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
