ঝিনাইদহের কোটচাঁদপুরে মাদক বিরোধী অভিযানে এক কেজি গাাঁজা উদ্ধার করেছে জেলা মাদক দ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রন অধিদপ্তর।
(২ ফেব্রুয়ারি) বুধবার সকালে পৌর শহরের সুইপার পাড়ার একটি মেহগনি বাগানে মাটির নিচ থেকে পলিথিন পেপারে মোড়ানো এই গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়। এসময় কাউকে আটক করতে পারেনি মাদক বিরোধী দল।
জেলা মাদক দ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রন অধিদপ্তরের পরিদর্শক আবুল কালাম আজাদ জানান, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে জানতে পারি কোটচাঁদপুর পৌর এলাকার সুইপার পাড়ায় মাটির নিচে গাঁজা আছে। এমন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে বুধবার সকালে উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার ও নির্বাহী ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট মোঃ দেলোয়ার হোসেনের নের্তৃত্বে সঙ্গীয় ফোর্স সহ ওই এলাকায় অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। এসময় একটি মেহগনি গাছের বাগানে মাটির নিচে পুতে রাখা অবস্থায় এক কেজি গাঁজা উদ্ধার করা হয়। তিনি জানান, ঘটনাস্থল থেকে কাউকে আটক করা যায়নি।
এব্যাপারে কোটচাঁদপুর থানায় সাধারণ ডায়েরী (জিডি) করা হয়েছে।
