কোন ইউনিয়ন, কোন দেশ বিবৃতি দিলো তাতে আমাদের কিছু আসে যায় না বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের। তিনি বলেন, আমার দেশের আইনে আমার দেশের অপরাধীকে বিচার করতে পারব না এ কোন গণতন্ত্র। কোথা থেকে এলো এ আদেশ। এ দেশের খুনি, অপরাধীদের বিচার হবে আইন অনুযায়ী।
মঙ্গলবার (৭ নভেম্বর) রাজধানীর বঙ্গবন্ধু অ্যাভিনিউয়ে ঢাকা মহানগর দক্ষিণ আওয়ামী লীগ আয়োজিত ‘মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সৈনিক হত্যা দিবস’-এর আলোচনা সভায় তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
বায়দুল কাদের বলেন, ৭ নভেম্বর বিএনপির জাতীয় দিবস। এদিন তাদের উত্থানের দিন। নিজেদের জাতীয় দিবসে যারা কর্মসূচি স্থগিত করে দেয়, এদের মতো ভিতু কাপুরুষ হয়? এই কাপুরুষদের রাজনীতি মানায়? তাদের আন্দোলনের সাহস এখানেই তো দেখা গেল। এদের দল কেন করবে মানুষ?
তিনি বলেন, বিএনপি বলেছিল, শেখ হাসিনা পালাচ্ছে। অথচ, আপনারা কে কে কোথায়? কেউ কারাগারে। কেউ পালিয়েছেন। শেখ হাসিনাকে হটাবেন? শেখ হাসিনাকে হটাতে গেলে আপনারাই হটে যাবেন।
৭ নভেম্বর ইতিহাসের সবচেয়ে ভয়াবহ রক্তাক্ত কলঙ্কজনক দিনগুলোর একটি উল্লেখ করে আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক বলেন, এদিন আমরা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা হত্যার দিন পালন করি। এদিন সিপাহি জনতার অভ্যুত্থানের নামে কর্নেল তাহের ক্যান্টনমেন্টে বন্দী জিয়াউর রহমানকে উদ্ধার করেছে। ফলাফলে জিয়া কর্নেল তাহেরকে হত্যা করেছে। জিয়াউর রহমানের উত্তরসূরিরা আজও বাংলাদেশে হত্যা ও ষড়যন্ত্রের রাজনীতি বহন করে চলেছে। বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিকে তারা কলুষিত করেছে। খালেদা-তারেক অগ্নি-সন্ত্রাসের সূচনা করেছে। রক্তের বন্যা তারা সারা বাংলাদেশে বইয়ে দিয়েছিল। এখন কোথায়? বাড়াবাড়ি কই গেল?
২৮ অক্টোবরের সহিংসতার কথা উল্লেখ করে কাদের বলেন, ২৮ অক্টোবর ঘটনা যখন দেখল খারাপ, মির্জা ফখরুল লাফ দিয়ে নিচে নেমে গেল। এদিক-ওদিক তাকায়, কাউকে পায় না। বেচারা দিশেহারা হয়ে দৌড় দিয়েছে। এ দৌড় ডেমরার সালাহউদ্দিনকে হার মানিয়েছিল। পরে কয়েকজন ধরে এনেছে, মাইক বন্ধ, হ্যান্ড মাইকে কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করেছে।
