জেনারেল আজিজ ও তার ভাইদের দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে দুদকের অনুসন্ধান
সাবেক সেনাপ্রধান জেনারেল আজিজ আহমেদের দুই ভাই হারিছ আহমেদ ও তোফায়েল আহমেদ ওরফে জোসেফের জাতীয় পরিচয়পত্র (এনআইডি) জালিয়াতির ঘটনায় তদন্ত শুরু করেছে নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)।
সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ইসির এক যুগ্ম-সচিবকে প্রধান করে গঠন করা হয়েছে ৩ সদস্যের কমিটি। সম্প্রতি তাদের এনআইডি জালিয়াতির বিষয়টি প্রকাশ্যে আসলে ইসি তা তদন্তের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। সোমবার (১০ জুন) গণমাধ্যমকে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছেন ইসির অতিরিক্ত সচিব অশোক কুমার দেবনাথ।ইসি সূত্র বলছে, বিষয়টি তদন্ত করার জন্য ইসির একজন যুগ্ম-সচিবকে প্রধান করে তিন সদস্যের তদন্ত কমিটি গঠন করা হয়েছে।জানা গেছে, নিজেদের নামের পাশাপাশি মা-বাবার নাম পাল্টে এনআইডি সংগ্রহ করেন আজিজ আহমেদের দুই ভাই হারিছ আহমেদ ও তোফায়েল আহমেদ ওরফে জোসেফ। তোফায়েল নিয়েছেন দুটি এনআইডি। একটি তানভীর আহমেদ তানজীল নামে, আরেকটি আসল নামে। হারিছ আহমেদ এনআইডি নেন মোহাম্মদ হাসান নামে। মোহাম্মদ হাসান নামে করা এনআইডিতে হারিছ নিজের ছবি পরিবর্তন করেন ২০১৯ সালে। ছবি বদলানোর জন্য সুপারিশ করেছিলেন তৎকালীন সেনাপ্রধান আজিজ আহমেদ। মিথ্যা তথ্য দিয়ে এনআইডি করা এবং একাধিক এনআইডি করা আইন অনুযায়ী শাস্তিযোগ্য অপরাধ। উল্লেখ্য, আজিজ আহমেদ ২০১৮ সালের জুন থেকে ২০২১ সালের জুন পর্যন্ত তিন বছর বাংলাদেশের সেনাপ্রধান ছিলেন। এর আগে চার বছর বাংলাদেশের সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনীর (বিজিবি) প্রধান ছিলেন। দুর্নীতিতে জড়িত থাকার কথা জানিয়ে গত ২১ মে আজিজ আহমেদের ওপর যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সরকার নিষেধাজ্ঞা দেয়।
