ঝিনাইদহে এসএসসি পরীক্ষার আগেই ২১৩ জন ছাত্রীর বিয়ে হয়ে গেছে। ফলে ফরম পুরণ করেও তারা পরীক্ষার হলে গরহাজির ছিল। স্বামীর বাড়িতে থাকায় তারা এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় অংশ গ্রহন করতে পারেনি। এমনকি ঝিনাইদহের হাটগোপালপুর মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ১৫ নারী শিক্ষার্থীর ১৫ জনই বিয়েজনিত কারণে পরীক্ষার হলে অনুপস্থিত ছিলেন। বুধবার ঝিনাইদহ জেলা শিক্ষা অফিসের এক জরিপ তথ্যে বাল্য বিয়ের এই চিত্র উঠে আসে। এ নিয়ে প্রশাসনের তোলপাড় শুরু হয়। প্রশ্ন উঠেছে বাল্য বিয়ে প্রতিরোধ কমিটির তৎপরতা নিয়ে। ঝিনাইদহ জেলা শিক্ষা অফিসের পাঠানো জরিপ তথ্য থেকে জানা গেছে, ঝিনাইদহ সদর উপজেলায় গত এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় ৬০ জন ছাত্রী হলে অনুপস্থিত ছিল। এর মধ্যে ৪৬ জন বিয়েজনিত কারণে পরীক্ষা দিতে পারেনি। একই ভাবে হরিণাকুন্ডু উপজেলায় অনুপস্থিত ১৯ জন নারী পরীক্ষার্থী মধ্যে ১৪ জন, মহেশপুরে অনুপস্থিত ৬৮ জনের মধ্যে ৫০ জন, শৈলকুপায় অনুপস্থিত ৭১ জনের মধ্যে ৪১ জন, কোটচাঁদপুরে অনুপস্থিত ২৫ জনের মধ্যে ২০ জন ও কালীগঞ্জে ৭২ জন নারী পরীক্ষার্থীর মধ্যে ৪৪ জন পরীক্ষার হলে অনুপস্থিত ছিল। জরিপ তথ্যে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে, শৈলকুপার ফাজিলপুর পরীক্ষা কেন্দ্রে ৩৫ জন নারী পরীক্ষার্থী অনুপস্থিত ছিল। এর মধ্যে ১৪ জনই বাল্য বিয়ের শিকার হয়েছে। শৈলকুপা সরকারী পাইলট উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৫ জনের মধ্যে ৪ জন, গাড়াগঞ্জ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৯ জনের মধ্যে ৮ জন, শৈলকুপা রাহাতন নেছা কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৮ জনের মধ্যে ৫ জন, কাতলাগাড়ি কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৩ জনের মধ্যে ২ জন, বাগুটিয়া গোপালপুর কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৫ জনের মধ্যে ৪ জন ও উমেদপুর মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৩ জনের মধ্যে ২ জনের বিয়েজনিত কারণে পরীক্ষা দিতে পারেনি। এছাড়া ঝিনাইদহ সদর উপজেলার উত্তরনারায়নপুর পরীক্ষা কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৮ জনের মধ্যে ৬ জন, ঝিনাইদহ শহরের সিদ্দিকীয়া আলীয়া মাদ্রাসা কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৮ জনের মধ্যে ৫জন, হাটগোপালপুর মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ১৫ জনের মধ্যে ১৫ জন, উত্তর নারায়নপুর কেন্দ্রে ৪ জনের মধ্যে ৪ জন, উজির আলী কেন্দ্রে ৫ জনের মধ্যে ৫ জন, ঝিনাইদহ সরকারী বালক উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে অনুপস্থিত ৫ জনের মধ্যে ৪ জন, ঝিনাইদহ ক্যাডেট কলেজ কেন্দ্রে অনুপস্থিত ৩ জনের মধ্যে ৩ জনের বিয়ে হয়ে গেছে। বাল্য বিয়ে প্রতিরোধ নিয়ে কাজ করা রুরাল ডেভলপমেন্ট সেন্টারের নির্বাহী প্রধান আব্দুর রহমান জানান, এসএসসি পরীক্ষার পর বাল্য বিয়ে প্রতিরোধ কমিটির এক সভায় নারী শিক্ষার্থীদের উপস্থিতির হার কমে যাওয়ার বিষয়টি তিনি তুলেছিলেন। ওই সভায় জেলা প্রশাসক বিষয়টি তদন্ত করার নির্দেশ দেন। সে মোতাবেক ঝিনাইদহ জেলা শিক্ষা অফিস ৬ উপজেলায় জরিপ চালিয়ে বাল্য বিয়ের এই সত্যতা পান। তিনি বলেন বাল্য বিয়ে রোধ করতে না পারা আমাদের জন্য খুবই র্দুভাগ্যের বিষয়। শৈলকুপা মহিলা বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তা রেশমা খানম বলেন, এই বিয়ের বিষয়ে প্রশাসনের বিন্দুমাত্র গাফলতি নেই। বাল্য বিয়ে প্রতিরোধ কমিটিতে যারা আছেন সবাই খুবই আন্তরিক। কিন্তু গোপনে ও স্থান পরিবর্তন করে বিয়ে দেওয়ার কারণে এ সব খবর আমরা জানতে পারিনি। তিনি বলেন তরপরও এই ব্যার্থতা তো আমাদেরই। ঝিনাইদহ জেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার নাজমা সামাওয়াত বলেন, উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসারদের পাঠানো তথ্য মোতাবেক এই রিপোর্ট তৈরী করে জেলা প্রশাসকের দপ্তরে পাঠানো হয়েছে। তাতে অনুপস্থিত ৩২৪ জন নারী পরীক্ষার্থীর মধ্যে ২১৩ জনের বিয়ে হওয়ার সত্যতা পাওয়া গেছে।
