ঝিনাইদহ পৌর এলাকার খাজুরা গ্রামে আবন মন্ডল হত্যা মামলার পলাতক আসামী তারিক মন্ডলকে গ্রেফতার করেছে ঝিনাইদহ র্যাব। রোববার ভোর রাতে গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে তারিক মন্ডলকে সদর উপজেলার হাটগোপালপুর এলাকা থেকে গ্রেফতার করে। আসামী তারিক মন্ডল খাজুরা গ্রামের নিয়ামত মন্ডলের ছেলে। গ্রেফতারের পর তারিক মন্ডল এই হত্যার সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকার কথা স্বীকার করেছে। রোববার দুপুরে র্যাব এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানায় গত ১৩ মার্চ আধিপত্যা বিস্তার ও গ্রাম্য দলাদলির জের ধরে আবন মন্ডলকে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়। এ ঘটনায় নিহতর ছেলে শাহীন হোসেন মন্ডল বাদী হয়ে ঝিনাইদহ সদর থানায় একটি মামলা করলে তারিক মন্ডলসহ অন্যান্য আসামীরা এলাকা ছেড়ে পালিয়ে যায়।
