ঝিনাইদহে করোনা ও উপসর্গ নিয়ে গত ২৪ ঘন্টায় ৮ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এছাড়াও নতুন করে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ১১৩ জন। কালীগঞ্জ ও কোটচাঁদপুরে করোনায় আক্রান্ত হয়ে ২ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এছাড়াও সদর হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় উপসর্গ নিয়ে ৪ জন ও মহেশপুরে উপসর্গ নিয়ে মারা গেছে ২ জন।
সিভিল সার্জন ডা: সেলিনা বেগম জানান, রোববার সকালে কুষ্টিয়া ও ঝিনাইদহ ল্যাব থেকে ২’শ ৯২ জনের নমুনা পরীক্ষার ফলাফল এসেছে। এর মধ্যে ১’শ ১৩ জনের করোনা পজেটিভ এসেছে। আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে সদর উপজেলায় রয়েছে ৪২ জন, শৈলকুপায় ১১ জন, হরিণাকুন্ডুতে ৯ জন, কালীগঞ্জে ২৮ জন, কোটচাঁদপুরে ১৫ জন ও মহেশপুরে রয়েছে ৮ জন। এনিয়ে করোনার আক্রান্তের হার ৩৮.৬৮ ভাগ। এ নিয়ে জেলায় মোট আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা দাড়ালো ৪ হাজার ৭’শ ৪ জনে।
ঝিনাইদহ সদর হাসপাতালের তত্বাবধায়ক ডা: হারুন অর রশিদ জানান, বর্তমানে ঝিনাইদহ সদর হাসপাতালের করোনা ইউনিটে ভর্তি আছে ১’শ ১৯ জন। প্রতিদিন নতুন নতুন রোগি ভর্তি হচ্ছে। রোগিদের বাড়তি চাপ সামাল দিতে চিকিৎসক ও নার্সরা হিমশিম খাচ্ছে।
