টঙ্গীতে বিশ্ব ইজতেমা ঘিরে সেনাবাহিনীর টহল জোরদার
বিশ্ব ইজতেমা মাঠের নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে উদ্ভূত পরিস্থিতি মোকাবিলায় টঙ্গীতে সেনাবাহিনীর টহল জোরদার করা হয়েছে।
শুক্রবার (১৩ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুর ১টা ৪০ মিনিটে ঢাকা-ময়মনসিংহ মহাসড়কের টঙ্গী স্টেশন রোড ও মিলগেট এলাকায় সেনাবাহিনীর উপস্থিতি লক্ষ্য করা যায়। নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক এক পেট্রোল কমান্ডার বলেন, ‘জনগণের জানমালের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে সেনাবাহিনী সবসময় মাঠে থাকে। তবে বিশ্ব ইজতেমা ঘিরে গতকালের ঘটনার পর আমরা আরও সতর্ক অবস্থানে রয়েছি।’
সরেজমিনে জানা যায়, বিশ্ব ইজতেমা ময়দানে জুবায়েরপন্থী মুসল্লিদের কয়েক হাজার সদস্য অবস্থান করছে। অন্যদিকে তুরাগ নদীর পশ্চিম তীরে সাদপন্থীদের মসজিদের সামনে অবস্থান নিয়েছে আরও কয়েক হাজার মুসল্লি। বৃহস্পতিবার জুবায়েরপন্থীদের হামলায় সাদপন্থীদের পাঁচজন মুরুব্বি আহত হন। এ ঘটনায় জুবায়েরপন্থীদের বিরুদ্ধে টঙ্গী পশ্চিম থানায় ৩৪ জনের নাম উল্লেখ করে এবং আরও ৩০-৪০ জনকে অজ্ঞাত আসামি করে একটি মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। আজ বিকেলে এই মামলার প্রতিবাদে জুবায়েরপন্থীরা গাজীপুর মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের দক্ষিণ বিভাগের উপ-কমিশনার কার্যালয়ের সামনে বিক্ষোভ মিছিল ও স্মারকলিপি দেওয়ার কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করেছে।
সাদপন্থীদের মিডিয়া সমন্বয়ক মোহাম্মদ সায়েম জানান, ‘গতকালের হামলায় আমাদের পাঁচজন সাথী আহত হয়েছেন এবং একটি গাড়ি ভাঙচুর হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আমাদের পক্ষ থেকে শিহাব উদ্দিন বাদী হয়ে মামলা করেছেন। তবে তদন্তের স্বার্থে আসামিদের নাম এখনই প্রকাশ করা সম্ভব নয়।’
অন্যদিকে, শুরায়ে নেজামের (জুবায়েরপন্থী) মিডিয়া সমন্বয়কারী হাবিবুল্লাহ রায়হান জানান, ‘সাদপন্থীদের মিথ্যা মামলার প্রতিবাদে আজ বাদ জুমা বিক্ষোভ মিছিল এবং স্মারকলিপি প্রদান করা হবে।’
টঙ্গী পশ্চিম থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) ইস্কান্দার হাবিবুর রহমান বলেন, ‘সাদপন্থীদের পক্ষ থেকে একটি মামলা হয়েছে। পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে রাখতে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর সবধরনের চেষ্টা অব্যাহত রয়েছে।’
বিশ্ব ইজতেমার মাঠ ও এর আশপাশে পুলিশ, র্যাব, এপিবিএন এবং সেনাবাহিনীর বিপুলসংখ্যক সদস্য মোতায়েন রয়েছে। টঙ্গী পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম থানায় অতিরিক্ত নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে।
