ডেল্টা প্ল্যান বাস্তবায়নে এডিবির সহায়তা চাইলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী
প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ডেল্টা প্ল্যান-২১০০ বাস্তবায়নে এশীয় উন্নয়ন ব্যাংকের (এডিবি) সহায়তা চেয়ে বলেছেন, এটি বাংলাদেশের জন্য অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
সোমবার (৯ মে) সকালে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সরকারি বাসভবন গণভবনে এডিবি’র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট (অপারেশনস-১) শিঝিন চেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকালে তিনি এ অনুরোধ জানান। বৈঠক শেষে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রেস সচিব ইহসানুল করিম সাংবাদিকদের এ বিষয়ে ব্রিফ করেন।
বৈঠকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বিশেষ করে যোগাযোগ, বাণিজ্য ও জ্বালানিখাতে আঞ্চলিক সহযোগিতা বৃদ্ধির জন্য এডিবি’র সহায়তা কামনা করেন।
এডিবি’র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়ন প্রচেষ্টায় পাশে থাকার আশ্বাস দেন।
শিঝিন চেন বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশের সাথে আমাদের দৃঢ় সম্পর্ক রয়েছে এবং এডিবি বাংলাদেশের পাশে থাকবে। এ দেশের গ্রামীণ ও নগর উন্নয়নের ক্ষেত্রে সহায়তা অব্যাহত রাখবে।’
এডিবি’র ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট কোভিড-১৯ মহামারির মধ্যে ও বাংলাদেশের অর্থনীতির চাকা সচল রাখায় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার গতিশীল নেতৃত্বের প্রশংসা করেন।
তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার দূরদর্শী নেতৃত্বের কারণে বাংলাদেশ কোভিড-১৯ মহামারির মধ্যে দেশের অর্থনীতির চাকা সচল রেখেছেন।’
শিঝিন আরও বলেন, এডিবি আশা করছে বাংলাদেশ জিডিপিতে ৭ শতাংশ প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জন করতে সক্ষম হবে।
শিঝিন চেন বাংলাদেশের সামগ্রিক উন্নয়নের প্রশংসা করে বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশ এখন একটি ক্রান্তিকাল অতিক্রম করছে (উন্নয়নশীল দেশ হিসেবে স্নাতক হওয়ার কারণে) যা সাধারণত একটু জটিল। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশ ভালো করছে।’
