প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেছেন, দেশ নিয়ে দুশ্চিন্তার কিছু নেই, নতুন প্রজন্মই স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশকে এগিয়ে নেবে।
সোমবার (২৪ জুন) রাজধানীর ওসমানী স্মৃতি মিলনায়তনে শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের আয়োজিত মাধ্যমিক থেকে স্নাতক (পাস) ও সমমান পর্যায়ের মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে ২০২৩-২৪ অর্থবছরের উপবৃত্তি ও টিউশন ফি বিতরণ কার্যক্রমের উদ্বোধন শেষে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, আমি সত্যি খুব আনন্দিত আমরা ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলেছি, এটা তারই একটি দৃষ্টান্ত। এইমাত্র যেটা উদ্বোধন করা হলো সেটা হলো স্নাতক (পাস) ও সমমান পর্যায়ের অসচ্ছল ও মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের উপবৃত্তি ও টিউশন ফি। এটা সম্পূর্ণ ডিজিটাল পদ্ধতিতে যার যার অ্যাকাউন্টে চলে যাবে। নিজেরা সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন। সেই পদ্ধতিটাই আমরা অনুসরণ করলাম। ডিজিটাল পদ্ধতিতে উদ্বোধন করতে পেরে আমরা আনন্দিত।
শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, শিক্ষার কোনো নীতিমালা থাকুক, এটা চায়নি বিএনপি। এক সময় শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে গুলি-বোমার শব্দ ও সেশনজট ছিল নিয়মিত বিষয়।
এসময় অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী মহিবুল হাসান চৌধুরীর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শিক্ষা ও সাংস্কৃতিক বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা ড.কামাল আব্দুল নাসের চৌধুরী, শিক্ষা প্রতিমন্ত্রী বেগম শামসুন্নাহার, মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চ শিক্ষা বিভাগের সচিব সোলেমান খান।
