নারী-পুরুষের সমতা নিশ্চিত করতে চায় সরকার: জনপ্রশাসন প্রতিমন্ত্রী
জনপ্রশাসন প্রতিমন্ত্রী ফরহাদ হোসেন বলেছেন, দেশের সুষম উন্নয়ন নিশ্চিত করতে প্রয়োজন নারী-পুরুষ সমতা। এই সমতা নিশ্চিত করতে সরকার আন্তরিক ভাবে কাজ করছে।
শনিবার (২ অক্টোবর) শাহবাগে শওকত ওসমান স্মৃতি মিলনায়তনে ইভল্যুশন ৩৬০ আয়োজিত পাবলিক স্পিকিং প্রতিযোগিতার পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসাবে বক্তব্য প্রদান কালে তিনি এ কথা বলেন।
প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমান সরকার দেশকে একটি উন্নত-সমৃদ্ধ রাষ্ট্রে পরিণত করার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করছে। এই লক্ষ্য অর্জন করতে হলে নারীদেরকেও পুরুষদের মতো উন্নয়নের মূল স্রোতধারায় সংযুক্ত হতে হবে। তাদেরকেও উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রমের সমান ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করতে হবে। সেজন্যই নারীরা যাতে পুরুষদের মত সমান অধিকার পায়, তা নিশ্চিত করতে সরকার কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
প্রতিমন্ত্রীর মতে, বাল্যবিবাহ সমাজের উন্নয়নের জন্য প্রতিবন্ধকতা সৃষ্টি করে। বাল্যবিবাহ রোধকল্পে জনসচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করতে হবে। বাল্যবিবাহ পরিবারের পাশাপাশি সমাজের জন্যও ক্ষতিকর। তাই বাল্যবিবাহ বন্ধে সকলকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে।
