একনেকের বৈঠকে খুলনা মেডিকেল কলেজ প্রকল্প থেকে ‘শেখ হাসিনা’ নামটি বাদ দেওয়ার নির্দেশনা দিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। পরে উপস্থিত সবার অনুরোধে এ নামটি থাকলেও আগামীতে আর কোনো প্রকল্প-স্থাপনায় নিজের নাম না দেওয়ার নির্দেশ দেন শেখ হাসিনা।
বৃহস্পতিবার (৯ মে) অনুষ্ঠিত জাতীয় অর্থনৈতিক পরিষদের নির্বাহী কমিটির (একনেক) সভায় এ নির্দেশনা দেন তিনি।
বৈঠক শেষে ব্রিফিংয়ে এসব তথ্য জানান পরিকল্পনা বিভাগের সিনিয়র সচিব সত্যজিৎ কর্মকার।
ব্রিফিংয়ে পরিকল্পনামন্ত্রী মেজর জেনারেল আব্দুস সালাম (অব.), পরিকল্পনা প্রতিমন্ত্রী বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা মো. সহিদুজ্জামান সরকারসহ পরিকল্পনা কমিশনের সদস্যরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। রাজধানীর শেরেবাংলা নগরের এনইসি সম্মেলনকক্ষে একনেক ও ব্রিফিং অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
এবারের একনেকের সভায় খুলনা শেখ হাসিনা মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্থাপন, চট্টগ্রামে একটি বার্ন ইউনিট স্থাপনসহ ১০টি প্রকল্পের অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১০টি প্রকল্পের ব্যয় ধরা হয়েছে ৫ হাজার ৫৬৩ কোটি টাকা। এর মধ্যে সরকারি তহবিল থেকে ৫ হাজার ২০৩ কোটি টাকা এবং বৈদেশিক ঋণ থেকে পাওয়া যাবে ৩৬০ কোটি ৪৭ লাখ টাকা।
