ঝিনাইদহের শৈলকুপায় নাজমা নামে এক নারীকে শায়েস্তা করতে গিয়ে নিরীহ এক দিনমজুরকে হত্যা করা হয়। অন্যের ঘাড়ে দায় চাপাতে গিয়ে সোহেল রানা (৪৩) নামে এক খুনি নিজেই এখন ফেঁসে গেছেন। স্কেচ ফটোগ্রাফারের মাধ্যমে যৌথভাবে ক্লুলেস ওই হত্যাকান্ডের রহস্য উদঘাটন করেছে র্যাব ও পুলিশ। গ্রেফতার হওয়া সোহেল রানা ঝিনাইদহের শৈলকুপা উপজেলার দুধসর গ্রামের আব্দুর রশিদের ছেলে। বুধবার (৬ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুরে ঝিনাইদহ পুলিশ সুপারের কার্যালয়ে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে এই হত্যাকান্ডের মোটিভ ও ক্লু উদ্ধারের ঘটনা বর্ণনা করেন পুলিশ সুপার আজিম-উল-আহসান। অপরদিকে র্যাবের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতেও ক্লুলেস এই হত্যার বর্ননা করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ সুপারের দপ্তরে সংবাদ সম্মেলনে বলা হয়, গত ১৮ নভেম্বর ঝিনাইদহ সদর থানার মহারাজপুর ইউনিয়নের রামনগর গ্রামের একটি কলাবাগানে আসলাম হোসেন নামে এক দিনমজুরকে হত্যা করা হয়। আসলাম পাবনার চাটমোহর উপজেলার বহরমপুর গ্রামের ফরিদুল ইসলামের ছেলে। এ ঘটনায় সে সময় গোলাম মোস্তফা নামে এক কৃষককে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য আটক করা হয়। প্রাথমিকভাবে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে মোঃ গোলাম মোস্তফা হত্যাকান্ডের সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকার কথা অস্বীকার করে। পুলিশ ক্রাইম সিনে নিহত আসলামের পকেটে পাওয়া এক নাজমা বেগম নামে নারীর জাতীয় পরিচয় পত্রের ফটোকপি নিয়ে তদন্ত শুরু করে। নাজমা বেগম (৪২) শৈলকুপা উপজেলার দুধসর গ্রামের ওমর আলীর মেয়ে। নিহত ব্যক্তির পকেটে নাজমার পরিচয় পত্র কিভাবে গেলো এ নিয়ে তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হয়। নাজমা বেগম তখন পুলিশকে জানান, সোহেল রানা নামে এক ব্যক্তির সঙ্গে তার সম্পর্ক ছিল। সেই সূত্র ধরে টিসিবির কার্ড করে দেবার নাম করে সোহেল রানা পরিচয়পত্রটি নেয়। এরই মধ্যে সোহেল রানার সঙ্গে নাজমার সম্পর্কের অবনতি ঘটে। নাজমা বেগম সোহেল রানার বিরুদ্ধে শৈলকুপা থানায় একটি অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন। বিভিন্ন সময় সোহেল রানা অভিযোগটি তুলে নিতে নাজমা বেগমকে অনুরোধ করে। নাজমা অভিযোগ না তোলায় সোহেল রানা বাড়িছাড়া হয় এবং নাজমা বেগমকে যেকোনভাবে ফাঁসানোর পরিকল্পনা করতে থাকে। পুলিশ সুপার জানান, আসামী মোঃ সোহেল রানার কোন ডিজিটাল ছবি না থাকায় তাকে গ্রেফতার প্রক্রিয়া ব্যাহত হচ্ছিল। পরবর্তীতে ঢাকার স্কেচ আর্টিস্ট মোঃ মামুন হোসাইনকে দিয়ে মোছাঃ নাজমা বেগমের বর্ণনা মতে আসামীর স্কেচ তৈরী করা হয় এবং আসামী ভাসমান থাকায় বিভিন্ন থানায় স্কেচ পাঠানো হয়। এক পর্যায়ে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি ও স্কেচ ছবির মাধ্যমে র্যাবের সহায়তায় ঝিনাইদহ থানা পুলিশ মানিকগঞ্জ সদর উপজেলার চান্দিরচর গ্রাম থেকে তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। গ্রেফতারের পর আসামী সোহেল রানার ১৬৪ ধারার জবানবন্দীতে জানায় গত ১৭ নভেম্বর ঝিনাইদহের কালীগঞ্জ মুরগীহাটা এলাকায় নিহত আসলামের সঙ্গে তার পরিচয় ঘটে। সোহেল রানা ভিকটিম আসলামকে কাজ দেওয়ার প্রলোভন দেখিয়ে রামনগর গ্রামে নিয়ে যায় এবং হত্যার পর তার পকেটে নাজমা বেগমের পরিচয়পত্র ঢুকিয়ে দিয়ে পালিয়ে যায়।
