বাংলাদেশে শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন দেখতে চায় ভারত: অরিন্দম বাগচি
বাংলাদেশে আসন্ন নির্বাচনকে দেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ বিষয় হিসেবে উল্লেখ করে ভারত স্পষ্ট করে বলেছে, বাংলাদেশের জনগণ ভোটের মাধ্যমে তাদের নিজেদের ভবিষ্যৎ নির্ধারণ করবে। শুক্রবার (২৯ ডিসেম্বর) ভারতের পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের মুখপাত্র অরিন্দম বাগচি এ তথ্য জানান।
অরিন্দম বাগচি বলেছেন, ‘নির্বাচন বাংলাদেশের একটি অভ্যন্তরীণ বিষয়। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি বাংলাদেশের জনগণই তাদের নিজেদের ভবিষ্যৎ নির্ধারণ করবে।’
সাপ্তাহিক মিডিয়া ব্রিফিংকালে এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে বাগচি বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশের ঘনিষ্ঠ বন্ধু ও অংশীদার হিসেবে ভারত বাংলাদেশে শান্তিপূর্ণ নির্বাচন দেখতে চায় এবং একটি স্থিতিশীল, শান্তিপূর্ণ ও প্রগতিশীল জাতি হিসেবে বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্নকে সমর্থন করে যাবে।’
ভারত সরাসরি বর্তমান প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বাধীন সরকারকে সমর্থন করছে এবং আসন্ন নির্বাচনকে প্রভাবিত করছে বলে বিএনপির মুখপাত্রের সাম্প্রতিক অভিযোগের উল্লেখ করে বাগচি এ বিষয়ে মন্তব্য করতে অস্বীকার করেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা তৃতীয় কোনো পক্ষের নীতির বিষয়ে মন্তব্য করতে চাই না।’
বাংলাদেশে নিয়োজিত মার্কিন রাষ্ট্রদূত পিটার ডি. হাসের ভারতে সাম্প্রতিক বহুল আলোচিত সফর সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে বাগচি বলেন, তিনি মার্কিন রাষ্ট্রদূতের ভারত সফর নিয়ে মিডিয়া রিপোর্ট দেখেছেন।
তিনি বলেন, ‘এটি একটি ব্যক্তিগত সফর হতে পারে। কিন্তু আমি এ সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জানি না। তাই আমার কাছে এই মুহূর্তে বলার কিছু নেই।’
