বান্দরবানে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী যৌথ অভিযান চালিয়ে কয়েকজন সন্ত্রাসীকে আটক করা হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন সেনাপ্রধান এস এম শফিউদ্দিন আহমেদ। এ সময় কিছু অস্ত্রও উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।
রোববার (৭ এপ্রিল) বান্দরবানে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এ কথা জানান। সেনাপ্রধান পরিস্থিতি পর্যবেক্ষণে রুমা ও থানচি উপজেলা পরিদর্শনে গেছেন।
শফিউদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, আপনারা হয়তো জেনেছেন গতরাতে কিছু সন্ত্রাসীকে ধরতে সক্ষম হয়েছে আমাদের আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী। কিছু অস্ত্রও উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। একটা প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে। দৃশ্যমান কিছু কার্যক্রম আপনারা দেখতে পাবেন। এর ফল আপনারা সময়মতো পাবেন।

সেনাপ্রধান আরও বলেন, ইনশাল্লাহ জনগণের মধ্যে শান্তি ফিরে আসবে। তারা দেখতে পারবে যে সন্ত্রাসীদের কোনো জায়গা বাংলাদেশে নাই। এই পরিস্থিতি মোকাবিলা করার জন্য বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী সম্পূর্ণভাবে সক্ষম।
