প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা বলেছেন, ‘যেসব ব্যবসায়ী বাংলাদেশে বিনিয়োগ করতে আসবেন তারা এখন থেকে দক্ষিণ এবং দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়ার দেশগুলোর বাজার ধরারও একটা সুযোগ পাবেন। তাঁর সরকার সেভাবেই দেশের উন্নয়ন করে যাচ্ছে। ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশ প্রাচ্য এবং পাশ্চাত্যের মধ্যে ব্যসায়িক যোগাযোগের একটি সেতুবন্ধন হিসেবেই গড়ে উঠবে।’
শেখ হাসিনা মঙ্গলবার (২৬ অক্টোবর) সকালে রাজধানীর বঙ্গবন্ধু আন্তর্জাতিক সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে সপ্তাহব্যাপী ‘বাংলাদেশ বাণিজ্য ও বিনিয়োগ সম্মেলন-২০২১’ উদ্বোধনকালে প্রধান অতিথি’র বক্তব্যে এ কথা বলেন। তিনি গণভবন থেকে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে ভার্চুয়ালি সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধন করেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘যারা বাংলাদেশে বিনিয়োগ করতে আসবেন তারা যে শুধু বাংলাদেশ পাবেন তা কিন্তু নয়। তারা দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার এবং দক্ষিণ পূর্ব এশিয়ার দেশগুলোর বাজারগুলো ধরার এবং রপ্তানি করার একটা সুযোগ থাকবে। তাঁর সরকার সড়ক পথ, নৌ পথ, রেল পথ এবং আকাশ পথ-সবগুলো যাতে উন্নত হয় তার ব্যবস্থা নিচ্ছে।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী উদ্যোক্তা এবং অংশগ্রহণকারীদের ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে বলেন, ৭ দিনব্যাপী এই সম্মেলন আমাদের দেশের জন্য সম্ভাবনাময় ৯টি খাত যেমন- অবকাঠামো, তথ্য-প্রযুক্তি ও ফিনটেক, চামড়া, ঔষধ, স্বয়ংক্রিয় ও ক্ষুদ্র প্রকৌশল, কৃষিপণ্য ও খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণ, পাট-বস্ত্র শিল্পসহ অতি চাহিদা সম্পন্ন ভোগ্যপণ্য উৎপাদন এবং ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসাকে অগ্রাধিকার হিসেবে বিবেচনা করেছে যা সময়োপযোগী।
