ভারত থেকে সরছে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ, ওমানে হবে কিছু ম্যাচ!
পূর্বনির্ধারিত সূচি অনুযায়ী আসন্ন টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ ভারতে অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু দেশটিতে মহামারি করোনাভাইরাসের যে পরিস্থিতি তাতে সেখানকার ভৈন্যু বাতিল হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা ক্রমশ উজ্জল হচ্ছে। অবশ্য টুর্নামেন্ট আয়োজনের চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার জন্য ভারত কিছুদিন সময় চেয়েছে। তবে বিসিসিআই কর্মকর্তারাও বুঝতে পারছেন যে তাদের দেশে নির্ধারিত সময়ের মধ্যে বৈশ্বিক এই টুর্নামেন্টটি আয়োজন সম্ভব হবে না।
এমতাবস্থায় বিকল্প ভৈন্যু হিসেবে সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতে বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজন হবে। আর তাদের সহ-আয়োজক দেশ হিসেবে ওমানের নামও প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে। গত সপ্তাহে বিশ্ব ক্রিকেটের নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা আইসিসির বোর্ড সভায় এমনটাই ভাবা হয়েছে।
ক্রিকেটবিষয়ক জনপ্রিয় ওয়েবসাইট ক্রিকবাজ জানিয়েছে, সম্প্রতি দুবাইতে ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিসিআই) কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেছেন ওমান ক্রিকেটের কর্মকর্তারা। সেখানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মরু দেশটির ক্রিকেট বোর্ড প্রধান পঙ্কজ খিমজিও। ওই বৈঠকে প্রস্তাব রাখা হয় যেন, বিশ্বকাপের প্রথম রাউন্ডের ম্যাচগুলো ওমানের রাজধানী মাস্কটে আয়োজন করা হয়। তবে এটা এখনো চূড়ান্ত হয়নি, কেবল আলোচনার টেবিলে।

যদি শেষ পর্যন্ত ভারতে বিশ্বকাপ না হয়, তাহলে সংযুক্ত আরব আমিরাতের আবুধাবি, দুবাই এবং শারজার পাশাপাশি কিছু ম্যাচ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে মাস্কটে। এক্ষেত্রে বিসিসিআইয়ের দাবি, আয়োজনের স্বত্ব যেন তাদের থাকে।
আইপিএলের বাকি অংশ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে আমিরাতে। ফাইনাল ম্যাচ হওয়ার কথা রয়েছে ১০ অক্টোবর। আর নভেম্বরে বিশ্বকাপ হলে পিচ প্রস্তুত করতে যথেষ্ট সময় লেগে যাবে। তাই প্রথম রাউন্ডের ম্যাচগুলো মাস্কটে অনুষ্ঠিত হলে আমিরাতের পিচগুলো ভালোভাবে প্রস্তুত করা সম্ভব হবে। মূলত এ কারণেই বিকল্প ভৈন্যুর এই প্রস্তাব।
