নানা জল্পনা-কল্পনার পর আগামী ৭ জানুয়ারি (রোববার) ভোটগ্রহণের তারিখ রেখে দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করেছে নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)।
ঘোষিত তফসিল অনুযায়ী, নির্বাচনে মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দেওয়ার শেষ তারিখ ৩০ নভেম্বর, বাছাই ১-৪ ডিসেম্বর এবং ১৭ ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে মনোনয়নপত্র প্রত্যাহার করা যাবে।
বুধবার (১৫ নভেম্বর) সন্ধ্যা ৭টায় নির্বাচন কমিশন ভবন থেকে টেলিভিশন ও বেতারে জাতির উদ্দেশে ভাষণের মাধ্যমে তফসিল ঘোষণা করেন প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার (সিইসি) কাজী হাবিবুল আউয়াল।
এর আগে আজ বিকালে নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঠিক করতে বৈঠকে বসে নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)। সিইসি কাজী হাবিবুল আউয়াল তার দপ্তরে অন্য নির্বাচন কমিশনারদের নিয়ে এ বৈঠকে বসেন। এতে ইসি সচিব, অতিরিক্ত সচিব, জাতীয় পরিচয় নিবন্ধন অনুবিভাগের মহাপরিচালকসহ ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তারাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
প্রসঙ্গত, দ্বাদশ সংসদ নির্বাচনের ভোটার সংখ্যা ১১ কোটি ৯৬ লাখ ৯১ হাজার জন। আর ভোটকেন্দ্র হচ্ছে ৪২ হাজার ১০৩টি। এবার ভোটের ব্যয় ধরা হয়েছে এক হাজার ৪৪৪ কোটি টাকা।
