মহেশপুর সীমান্তে ৪ মাসে বিজিবির অভিযানে সাবেক মন্ত্রী ও এমপিসহ ৯৩৩ জন গ্রেফতার

ঝিনাইদহের মহেশপুর সীমান্ত দিয়ে অবৈধভাবে ভারতে যাওয়ার সময় চার মাসে ২৮ জন ভারতীয় নাগরিকসহ ৯৩৩ জন আটক হয়েছে। আটককৃদের মধ্যে সাবেক মন্ত্রী, এমপি, ছাত্রলীগ ক্যাডার, পুলিশ সদস্য, জেল পলাতক আসামী, বিদ্রোহী আনসার সদস্যসহ ফ্যাসিস্ট আওয়ামী সরকারের নেতাকর্মীরা রয়েছেন। শনিবার (৩০ নভেম্বর) সন্ধ্যায় মহেশপুর ৫৮ বিজিবির এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, ৫ আগস্ট ছাত্র-জনতার বিপ্লবের পরে ঝিনাইদহের মহেশপুর সীমান্ত দিয়ে অবৈধভাবে ভারতে প্রবেশের চেষ্টা করে একাধিক ব্যক্তি। সীমান্তে বিজিবি সদস্যদের কঠোর নজরদারির কারণে বেশিরভাগ ব্যক্তি আটক হয়েছেন। সূত্র জানায়, ৫ আগস্টের পর মহেশপুর সীমান্ত দিয়ে ভারতে প্রবেশের সময় বিজিবির হাতে আটক হন সাবেক আওয়ামী পানিসম্পদ মন্ত্রী সাধন চন্দ্র চন্দ ও স্থানীয় তিনজন আওয়ামী লীগ, ছাত্রলীগ ক্যাডার ও সচিবালয়ে বিদ্রোহে জড়িত এক পলাতক আনসার সদস্য আটক হয় মহেশপুর সীমান্ত বিজিবির হাতে। এছাড়া বাংলাদেশি নাগরিকদের পাশাপাশি এক পুলিশ সদস্যসহ ২৮ জন ভারতীয় নাগরিক আটক হয়েছে বিজিবির হাতে। এদিকে গত ২৪ ঘন্টায় মহেশপুর সীমান্ত এলাকার মাটিলা, খোসালপুর, পলিয়ানপুর, বাঘাডাংগা, শ্যামকুড় এবং লড়াইঘাট সীমান্ত দিয়ে অবৈধ ভাবে ভারতে প্রবেশের চেষ্টাকালে নারী ও শিশুসহ ৪৭ জনকে আটক করেছে বিজিবি। আটকদের মধ্যে ১২ জন নারী, ১৯ জন পুরুষ এবং ১৬ জন শিশু রয়েছে। এদের সবাই অবৈধভাবে বিনা পাসপোর্টে ভারতে প্রবেশের চেষ্টা করছিলেন বলে বিজিবি সূত্র জানিয়েছে।
