ঢাকা টেস্টে নিজেদের প্রথম ইনিংসে ১৭২ রানে অলআউট হয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। জবাবে ব্যাট করতে নেমে টাইগার স্পিনারদের ঘূর্ণিতে ধুঁকছে কিউই ব্যাটাররা। শুরুতেই ৫ উইকেট হারিয়ে ব্যাটিং বিপর্যয়ে পড়েছে নিউজিল্যান্ড।
১৭২ রানের জবাবে ব্যাট করতে নেমে উদ্বোধনী জুটিতে ২০ রান সংগ্রহ করেন দুই ওপেনার টম লাথাম ও ডেভন কনওয়ে। তবে দলীয় ২২ রানে এই দুই ব্যাটারকে হারায় নিউজিল্যান্ড। ১৪ বলে ১১ রান করে কনওয়ে ও ২০ বলে ৪ রান করে আউট হন লাথাম।
এরপর কিউই ব্যাটিং লাইনে ধস নামান মেহেদি হাসান মিরাজ। এরপর ২৪ রানের মধ্যে আরও তিন ব্যাটারকে হারিয়ে বিপর্যয়ে পড়ে নিউজিল্যান্ড। ৫ উইকেট হারিয়ে ৫৫ রান সংগ্রহ করে দিন শেষ করেছে কিউইরা। মিরাজ ৩টি ও তাইজুল নিয়েছেন ২টি উইকেট।
