রেলক্রসিংয়ে দুর্ঘটনার তদন্ত চেয়ে রিট
সারাদেশের রেলক্রসিংয়ে দুর্ঘটনাগুলোর বিচার বিভাগীয় তদন্ত চেয়ে হাইকোর্টে রিট দায়ের করেছেন রেলের অনিয়ম, দুর্নীতি ও অব্যবস্থাপনার প্রতিবাদে টানা কয়েক সপ্তাহ আন্দোলন চালিয়ে যাওয়া ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (ঢাবি) সেই শিক্ষার্থী মহিউদ্দিন রনি। রিটে চট্টগ্রাম ও গোপালগঞ্জে রেল দুর্ঘটনায় নিহতদের পরিবার ও আহতদের ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়ার নির্দেশনা চাওয়া হয়েছে।বুধবার (৩ আগস্ট) সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী তাপস কান্তি বল মহিউদ্দিন রনির পক্ষে এ রিট দায়ের করেন। আইন সচিব, রেল সচিবসহ সংশ্লিষ্টদের রিটে বিবাদী করা হয়েছে।
গত শুক্রবার চট্টগ্রামের মিরসরাইয়ের খৈয়াছড়া ঝরনা এলাকায় ট্রেনের ধাক্কায় মাইক্রোবাসের ১১ যাত্রী নিহত হন। ওই ঘটনায় দায়ের হওয়া মামলায় গেটম্যান সাদ্দাম হোসেনকে কারাগারে পাঠিয়েছেন আদালত। তাকে সাময়িক বরখাস্ত করেছে রেলওয়ে।
এদিকে, গত ২১ জুলাই রাত ৯টায় গোপালগঞ্জের কাশিয়ানী উপজেলার কাগদী রেলক্রসিং এলাকায় রাজশাহী থেকে ছেড়ে আসা ‘টুঙ্গিপাড়া এক্সপ্রেস’ এর ধাক্কায় পাঁচ নির্মাণ শ্রমিক নিহত হন। আহত হন আরও বেশ কয়েকজন।
