শেখ হাসিনাকে আশ্রয় না দেওয়ার ইঙ্গিত যুক্তরাজ্যের
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পদ থেকে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত শেখ হাসিনা ভারতে আশ্রয় নিয়েছেন। ভারতের বিভিন্ন সংবাদমাধ্যমে বলা হয়েছে, হাসিনা যুক্তরাজ্যে যাবেন এবং সেখানে রাজনৈতিক আশ্রয় নেবেন।
তবে যুক্তরাজ্যের স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের মুখপাত্র ভারতীয় সংবাদমাধ্যম এনডিটিভিকে জানিয়েছেন, তাদের অভিবাসন আইন অনুযায়ী কোনও ব্যক্তির যুক্তরাজ্যে ভ্রমণ করে এসে রাজনৈতিক বা সাধারণ আশ্রয় নেওয়ার নিয়ম নেই। এর বদলে শেখ হাসিনাকে এখন ভারতেই আশ্রয় নেওয়ার ইঙ্গিত দিয়েছেন তিনি। স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের মুখপাত্র বলেছেন, ‘যে ব্যক্তি রাজনৈতিক আশ্রয় চাইছেন, তার প্রথম নিরাপদ দেশে পৌঁছেই এটি চাওয়া উচিত।’
তিনি আরও বলেছেন, ‘যাদের আন্তর্জাতিক নিরাপত্তা প্রয়োজন, তারা প্রথম যে নিরাপদ দেশে যান সেখানেই এটি চাওয়া উচিত। এটি নিরাপত্তার সবচেয়ে ভালো পথ।’তবে যুক্তরাজ্যের অনীহা সত্ত্বেও শেখ হাসিনা দেশটির কাছে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে রাজনৈতিক আশ্রয় পাওয়ার আবেদন করতে যাচ্ছেন বলে জানিয়েছে এনডিটিভি।
ভারতীয় সংবাদমাধ্যমটি আরও জানিয়েছে, শেখ হাসিনার ছোট বোন শেখ রেহানা যুক্তরাজ্যের নাগরিক। এছাড়া রেহানার মেয়ে টিউলিপ সিদ্দিক যুক্তরাজ্যের সংসদ সদস্য। যা হাসিনার রাজনৈতিক আশ্রয় চাওয়ার বিষয়টিকে সহায়তা করবে।
বর্তমানে ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দা সংস্থার নিরাপত্তায় রয়েছেন শেখ হাসিনা। এখন তার নিরাপত্তার বিষয়টি তারাই দেখছেন।
ছাত্র ও জনতার আন্দোলনের মুখে গতকাল সোমবার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পদ থেকে পদত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য হন শেখ হাসিনা। এরপর নিজের জীবনের নিরাপত্তার কথা ভেবে বাংলাদেশ থেকে পালিয়ে ভারতে চলে যান তিনি।
