‘বাংলা ভাষার প্রসার করি, স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তুলি’ প্রতিপাদ্যে ঝিনাইদহের শৈলকুপায় বাংলা ইশারা ভাষা দিবস পালিত হয়েছে। উপজেলা প্রশাসন এবং প্রতিবন্ধী সেবা ও সাহায্য কেন্দের আয়োজনে এ দিবস পালিত হয়। এ উপলক্ষে উপজেলা চত্ত¡র থেকে বর্ণাঢ্য র্যালি বের করা হয়। র্যালিটি শহরের বিভিন্ন সড়ক ঘুরে একই স্থানে শেষ হয়। পরে উপজেলা পরিষদ মিলনায়তনে বাক ও শ্রবণ প্রতিবন্ধীদের মাঝে সহায়ক উপকরণ বিতরণ এবং আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এসময় প্রতিবন্ধী সেবা ও সাহায্য কেন্দ্রের পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রতিবন্ধী মানুষের মাঝে ৮টি হুইল চেয়ার, ৫ টি ট্রাই সাইকেল এবং একটি হেয়ারিং এইড বিতরণ করা হয়। প্রতিবন্ধী বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তা জনাব মোঃ হাফিজ আল আসাদের সঞ্চালনায় অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) বনি আমিন। প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন শৈলক‚পা উপজেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান এম আব্দুল হাকিম আহমেদ। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন উপজেলা পরিষদের ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান জাহিদুন্নবী কালু, অতিরিক্ত কৃষি অফিসার আবুল হাসনাত, সাংবাদিকবৃন্দ, সরকারি দপ্তরের বিভিন্ন কর্মকর্তাগণ, বিভিন্ন প্রতিবন্ধী স্কুলের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, অফিসের কর্মকর্তা কর্মচারীগন।
