শৈলকুপা থানায় হামলার ঘটনায় আসামী ৬ শতাধিক গ্রেফতার ১৫ পুরুষশুন্য তিন গ্রাম

ঝিনাইদহের শৈলকুপা থানায় আ’লীগ নেতাকর্মীদের সংঘবদ্ধ হামলার ঘটনায় ছয় শতাধিক ব্যক্তিকে আসামী করে মামলা হয়েছে। রোববার (৯ জুন) রাতে শৈলকুপা থানার ডিউটি অফিসার এস আই লাল্টু রহমান বাদী হয়ে এই মামলা করেন। মামলায় ১১৫ জনের নাম উল্লেখ করে অজ্ঞাত আরো ৫শ’ ব্যক্তিকে আসামী করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ সোমবার (১০ জুন) ভোর পর্যন্ত ১৫ জনকে গ্রেফতার করতে পেরেছে। বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে শৈলকুপা থানার ওসি মোঃ সফিকুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী জানান, হামলায় অংশ নেয়া দুর্বৃত্তরা অধিকাংশ ধাওড়া ও পার্শবর্তী গ্রামের বাসিন্দা। এছাড়াও মনোহরপুর ইউনিয়নের বিজুলিয়া ও শৈলকুপা পৌরসভার বাসিন্দারাও এই হামলায় অংশ নেয় বলে ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে নিশ্চিত হওয়া গেছে। ওসি আরো জানান, আসামিদের গ্রেপ্তারে পুলিশ বিভিন্ন গ্রামে অভিযান চালাচ্ছে। সোমবারও দিনব্যাপী ধাওড়াসহ শৌলকুপার বিভিন্ন স্থানে পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়েছে। এদিকে পুলিশ অভিযানের ফলে ধাওড়াসহ তিনটি গ্রামের পুরুষ সদস্যরা বাড়িছাড়া হয়েছেন। সোমবার বিকালে দেখা গেছে ধাওড়া বাজারের বেশির ভাগ দোকানপাট বন্ধ। রাস্তায় মানুষ চলাচল কম। গ্রামের মধ্যে এক সুনশান নীরবতা বিরাজ করছে। উল্লেখ্য রোববার দুপুরে ধাওড়া গ্রামের মৃত আব্দুস সাত্তারের ছেলে ও শৈলকুপা উপজেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাবেক যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোস্তাক শিকদারকে পুলিশ একটি মারামারি মামলার গ্রেফতার করে। তাকে গ্রেফতারের পর বিকাল সাড়ে তিনটার দিকে শত শত মানুষ আসামি মোস্তাককে ছাড়াতে শৈলকুপা থানায় হামলা করে। এ সময় হামলাকারীরা বৃষ্টির মত থানা লক্ষ্য করে ইট ছুড়তে থাকে। পুলিশ আত্মরক্ষার্থে বাধ্য হয়ে শটগানের গুলি, সাউন্ড গ্রেনেড ও টিয়ার সেল ছুড়ে হামলাকারীদের ছত্রভঙ্গ করে দেয়। এতে ১০ পুলিশ সদস্যসহ অন্তত ৩৫ জন আহত হন। এর আগে গত শুক্রবার বিকালে স্থানীয় এমপি নায়েব আলী জোয়ারদার ও উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান মোস্তফা আরিফ রেজা মন্নুর উপস্থিতিতে শৈলকুপা পৌরসভার মেয়র কাজী আশরাফুল আযম থানার ওসি সফিকুল ইসলাম চৌধুরীকে সন্ত্রাসী আখ্যায়িত করে তাকে গলায় গামচা পেঁচিয়ে থানা থেকে বিতাড়ন করার হুমকী দেন। তার এই হুমকীর দুইদিন পর থানায় এই হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে।
