শ্রমিকরা দেশে কোয়ারেন্টিন করে গেলে সৌদি আরবে অব্যাহতি দেওয়ার অনুরোধ
বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিকরা দেশে কোয়ারেন্টাইন শেষে সৌদি আরব গেলে সেখানে কোয়ারেন্টিন থেকে অব্যাহতি প্রদানের অনুরোধ করেছেন পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. এ. কে. আব্দুল মোমেন।
শনিবার (১২ জুন) সৌদি আরবের পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী প্রিন্স ফয়সাল বিন ফারহান আল সৌদের সঙ্গে ফোনালাপকালে তিনি এই অনুরোধ করেন। এক্ষেত্রে বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিকদের খরচ সাশ্রয় হবে বলে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী উল্লেখ করেন। বিষয়টি বিবেচনা করা হবে বলে আশ্বস্ত করেছেন সৌদি আরবের পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী। গতকাল পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এক প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এই তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে।
বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ থেকে সৌদি আরবে যাওয়ার পর সাত দিন বাধ্যতামূলক প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক কোয়ারেন্টিন করতে হয়। করোনা মহামারির মধ্যেও বাংলাদেশি শ্রমিকের সৌদি গমনে অনুমতি প্রদানের জন্য সে দেশের সরকারকে ধন্যবাদ জানান ড. মোমেন।
এ সময় সৌদি পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী জানান, এ বছর করোনা মহামারির কারণে অন্য দেশ থেকে কোনো ব্যক্তি সৌদি আরবে গিয়ে হজ পালন করার সুযোগ পাবেন না। তবে সৌদিতে অবস্থানরত সৌদি নাগরিকের পাশাপাশি অন্য দেশের নাগরিকরাও হজ পালনের সুযোগ পাবেন।

ড. মোমেন বলেন, মিয়ানমারের বাস্তুচ্যুত রোহিঙ্গা জনগোষ্ঠীর নিজ দেশে নিরাপদ ও মর্যাদাপূর্ণ প্রত্যাবাসনকে বাংলাদেশ সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে। এ বিষয়ে সৌদি আবরের সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন তিনি।
পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী মোমেন সৌদি পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীকে বাংলাদেশ সফরের আমন্ত্রণ জানালে তিনি তা গ্রহণ করেন এবং সুবিধাজনক সময়ে বাংলাদেশ সফর করবেন বলে জানান।
