বিশ্বকাপে নিজেদের সপ্তম ম্যাচে শ্রীলঙ্কাকে ৩৫৮ রানের টার্গেট দিয়েছে ভারত। বৃহস্পতিবার (২ নভেম্বর) মুম্বাইয়ের ওয়াংখেড়ে স্টেডিয়ামে টস জিতে ভারতকে ব্যাটিংয়ে পাঠিয়েছে লঙ্কানরা। প্রথমে ব্যাট করে ৫০ ওভারে ৮ উইকেট হারিয়ে ৩৫৭ রান সংগ্রহ করেছে ভারত।
টস হেরে ব্যাট করতে নেমে শুরুতেই ধাক্কা খায় ভারত। ইনিংসের দ্বিতীয় বলেই অধিনায়ক রোহিত শর্মার উইকেট হারায় স্বাগতিকরা। ২ বলে ৪ রান করে ফিরে যান রোহিত।
এরপর ক্রিজে আসা বিরাট কোহলিকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে শুরুর ধাক্কা সামাল দেন ওপেনার শুভমান গিল। লঙ্কান বোলারদের ওপর তাণ্ডব চালান এই দুই ব্যাটার। ১৮৯ রানের জুটি গড়েন তারা।
আগ্রাসী ব্যাটিংয়ে দু’জনেই ছিলেন সেঞ্চুরির পথে। তবে দুজনের কেউই পাননি সেঞ্চুরির দেখা। দলীয় ১৯৩ ও ১৯৬ রানে আউট হন গিল ও কোহলি। ৯২ বলে ৯২ রান করে গিল ও ৯৪ বলে ৮৮ রান করে সাজঘরে ফিরে যান কোহলি।
এরপর শ্রেয়াস আইয়ার ও লোকেশ রাহুল মিলে রানের চাকা সচল রাখেন। ৬০ রানের জুটি গড়েন এই দুই ব্যাটার। তবে দলীয় ২৫৬ রানে ১৯ বলে ২১ রান করে আউট হন রাহুল।
এরই মাঝে ৩৬ বলে অর্ধশতক পূরণ করেন আইয়ার। তবে ক্রিজে এসেই ফিরে যান সূর্যকুমার যাদব। দলীয় ২৭৬ রানে ৯ বলে ১২ রান করে আউট হন তিনি।
এরপর ক্রিজে আসা রবীন্দ্র জাদেজাকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে রানের চাকা সচল রাখেন আইয়ার। মারমুখি ব্যাটিং করতে থাকেন আইয়ার। তবে দলীয় ৩৩৩ রানে ৫৬ বলে ৮২ রান করে ফিরে যান তিনি।
এরপর দলীয় ৩৫৫ রানে ৪ বলে ২ রান করে আউট হন ক্রিজে আসা মোহাম্মদ শামি। এরপর ইনিংসের শেষ বলে ২৪ বলে ৩৫ রান করে রান আউট হন জাদেজা। শেষ পর্যন্ত ৫০ ওভার শেষে ৮ উইকেট হারিয়ে ৩৫৭ রান সংগ্রহ করে ভারত। শ্রীলঙ্কার পক্ষে দিলশান মাদুশাঙ্কা নেন ৫টি উইকেট।
