সরকার যে কারো ব্যাংক হিসাব তলব করতে পারে: তথ্যমন্ত্রী
সাংবাদিকদের ব্যাংক হিসাব তলব প্রসঙ্গে তথ্য ও সম্প্রচারমন্ত্রী ড. হাছান মাহমুদ বলেছেন, ‘সরকার যে কারো ব্যাংক হিসাব তলব করতে পারে। এমপি, ব্যবসায়ী, সরকারি কর্মকর্তাদেরও ব্যাংক হিসাব তলব হয়। তবে কেউ স্বচ্ছ থাকলে এখানে উদ্বিগ্ন হওয়ার কারণ নেই। কারণ এই ব্যাংক হিসাব থেকে যখন তাদের স্বচ্ছতা বেরিয়ে আসবে, তখন মানুষের সামনে তাদের ভাবমূর্তি উজ্জ্বল হবে। তবে এটি কেন সংগঠনের নাম দিয়ে চাওয়া হলো এবং কেন এটি গণমাধ্যমে প্রকাশিত হলো, সেটিই প্রশ্ন -সে প্রশ্ন অনেকেই রেখেছে।’
সোমবার (২০ সেপ্টেম্বর) দুপুরে তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়ের সভাকক্ষে বাংলাদেশ সেক্রেটারিয়েট রিপোর্টার্স ফোরামের প্রথম প্রকাশনা সাময়িকী ‘বিএসআরএফ বার্তা’ উদ্বোধনকালে সাংবাদিকদের এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি একথা বলেন।
দেশের নির্বাচন কমিশনকে শক্তিশালী ও স্বাধীন বর্ণনা করে তথ্য ও সম্প্রচারমন্ত্রী ড. হাছান মাহমুদ বলেছেন, ‘বাংলাদেশে নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠানের জন্য কারো সহযোগিতা দরকার আছে বলে আমি মনে করি না। কারণ ইতিপূর্বে নির্বাচন কমিশন অত্যন্ত সুষ্ঠু ও স্বচ্ছভাবে অনেক নির্বাচন করেছে।’
সরকার ভয়ে খালেদা জিয়াকে স্থায়ীভাবে মুক্তি দিচ্ছে না, বিএনপি মহাসচিবের এমন মন্তব্যের জবাবে আওয়ামী লীগের যুগ্ম সাধারণ সম্পাদক হাছান মাহমুদ বলেন, ‘বিএনপি’র বরং সরকারকে বহু আগে ধন্যবাদ দেয়া প্রয়োজন ছিল। বিএনপি নেত্রী বেগম জিয়া জামিনে মুক্তি পাননি কিম্বা আদালত কর্তৃক খালাসও পাননি। প্রধানমন্ত্রী আইন প্রদত্ত ক্ষমতাবলে তার সাজা স্থগিত করেছেন। সেই কারণে তিনি কারাগারের বাইরে আছেন। এই জন্য বিএনপি’র শুকরিয়া আদায় করা প্রয়োজন। সরকার যেকোনো সময় চাইলে ৬ মাসের সাজা স্থগিতাদেশ বাতিল করতে পারে। সে আদেশ যদি আগামীকাল বাতিল হয় তাহলে তখনই বেগম খালেদা জিয়াকে কারাগারে ফেরত যেতে হবে। এটিও বিএনপি’র মনে রাখা প্রয়োজন রয়েছে বলে আমি মনে করি।সাংবাদিকরা এসময় বিটিআরসি থেকে আইপি টিভি’র ডোমেইন বন্ধ করা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করলে ড. হাছান বলেন, ‘আইপি টিভি রেজিস্ট্রেশন দেয়ার দায়িত্ব হচ্ছে তথ্য ও সম্প্রচার মন্ত্রণালয়ের। কিন্তু তারা ডোমেইন বরাদ্দ পায় বিটিআরসি থেকে। ডোমেইন বরাদ্দ দেয়ার আগে এখন থেকে অত্যন্ত সতর্ক হতে হবে। আগামী ২২ সেপ্টেম্বর আমরা টেলিযোগাযোগ ও তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয় এবং বিটিআরসির সাথে ত্রিপক্ষীয় একটি বৈঠক করবো।
