ঝিনাইদহের মহেশপুর উপজেলার বামুনগাছি গ্রামের বেলেমাঠ বাজারে শাহাজান আলী মন্ডল (৬৫) নামে এক ব্যক্তি নিজের ঘরে খুন হয়েছেন। তাকে গলাকেটে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। শাহাজান আলী মন্ডল ওই গ্রামের আকালে মন্ডলের ছেলে। মঙ্গলবার (২৮ মে) মধ্যরাতে এই হত্যাকান্ড সংঘটিত হতে পারে বলে মহেশপুর থানা পুলিশ মনে করছে। নিহত’র স্ত্রী নিমি বেগম বুধবার (২৯ মে) বিকালে জানান, মঙ্গলবার রাতের খাবার খেয়ে তিনি শুয়ে পড়েন। বুধবার সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে দেখেন তার ঘরের দরজা বাইরে থেকে দেয়া। তিনি জানালা ভেঙ্গে বাইরে এসে দেখেন তার স্বামীকে গলাকেটে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। বিছানায় রক্ত শুকিয়ে গেছে। এরপর তিনি তার ননদ শেফালী খাতুনকে ডাকেন। চাচাত ভাই আব্দুল্লাহ মামুন জানান, নিহত শাহাজান আলী নিজ বাড়িতে প্রতিবছর ওরস দিতেন। এছাড়া প্রতি বৃহস্পতিবার তিনি রান্না করে মানুষকে খাওয়াতেন। এলাকায় তার অনেক ভক্ত আছে। ঘটনার দিন রাতে রাজুসহ দুই যুবক শাহাজান আলীর বাড়িতে এসে রাতের খাবার খান। রাজুর পিতা শাহাজান আলী ফকীরের ভক্তপুত্র বলে জানা গেছে। হত্যাকান্ডের মোটিভ নিয়ে মহেশপুর থানার ওসি মাহবুবুর রহমান কাজল জানান, “ব্যক্তি আক্রোশ বা ক্ষোভ থেকে এই হত্যাকান্ড সংঘটিত হতে পারে। ধারণা করছি মঙ্গলবার রাত ১২টার দিকে কে বা কারা এই হত্যাকান্ড ঘটাতে পারে। তদন্ত চলছে। হত্যাকান্ড নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে। খুব দ্রæত হত্যার মোটিভ ও ক্লু উদ্ধার করা সম্ভব হবে”।
