মাশরাফি চাইলে বোর্ডও রাজি: পাপন
বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট দলের আইকন মাশরাফি বিন মর্তুজা। যিনি দলের সঙ্গে থাকলে সব ক্রিকেটারদের মধ্যে অন্যরকম উৎফুল্ল তৈরি হয়। বিশ্বকাপে বাংলাদেশ দলের ধরাশায়ীর পর ক্রিকেটপাড়ায় গুঞ্জন চলছি তাকে দল কিংবা বোর্ডের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করা নিয়ে।
এমন আলোচনার মধ্যেই গত বুধবার (৮ ডিসেম্বর) মিরপুর স্টেডিয়ামে পাপনের ডাকে হাজির হয়েছিলেন মাশরাফি। সন্ধ্যায় জানতে চাইলে বোর্ড সভাপতির সঙ্গে আলোচনার বিষয়ে মুখ খুলতে রাজি হননি সাবেক অধিনায়ক। মাশরাফি বলেছেন, ‘আমাকে ডাকা হয়েছিল। আমি গিয়েছি। আর এমন কিছু না।’ সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে বাংলাদেশ দলের ধারাবাহিক ব্যর্থতাই হয়তো পাপন-মাশরাফির আলোচনার বিষয় হতে পারে।
এরপর থেকে গুঞ্জন ছড়িয়ে পড়ে হয়তো শিগগির বোর্ডে কিংবা জাতীয় দলের সঙ্গে দেখা যাবে মাশরাফিকে। কিন্তু এ বিষয়ে কোনো আনুষ্ঠানিক মন্তব্য করেননি মাশরাফি। এমনকি বোর্ডের পক্ষ থেকেও জানানো হয়নি এ সংক্রান্ত কোনো খবর।
অবশেষে শনিবার (১১ ডিসেম্বর) বিকেএসপিতে এক অনুষ্ঠানে সংবাদমাধ্যমের মুখোমুখি হয়ে বোর্ড সভাপতি পাপন খোলাসা করেছেন পুরো বিষয়। তিনি পরিষ্কারভাবেই জানিয়েছেন, মাশরাফিকে দলের মেন্টর কিংবা বোর্ডে আনার ব্যাপারে কোনো আলোচনা হয়নি।
তবে মাশরাফি বোর্ডের সঙ্গে কাজ করতে চাইলে তাকে স্বাগত জানানোর কথাই বলেছেন বিসিবি সভাপতি। মাশরাফিকে মেন্টর বানানো বিষয়ক প্রশ্নের জবাবে পাপন বলেন, ‘ওরকম কিছু হয়নি। মাশরাফি যদি আসতে চায় আমরা তো চাইবোই তাকে নিয়ে আসতে। এখন পর্যন্ত ওরকম কোনো আলোচনা হয়নি।’
পাকিস্তানের বিপক্ষে শেষ টেস্ট চলাকালীন মাশরাফির স্টেডিয়ামে উপস্থিত হয়ে দেখা করার বিষয়ে পাপন বলেন, ‘মাশরাফি তার স্ত্রীর চিকিৎসার জন্য ভারতে গিয়েছিল। মূলত এটার জন্যই ওর খোঁজ নিতে গিয়েছিলাম। আর তামিমকে ওখানে পেয়েছি। তামিম যে ওখানে থাকবে এটা জানি না। ওরকম কিছু না। আলাপ করছিলাম।’
