সৌদি সাংবাদিক এবং মার্কিন বাসিন্দা জামাল খাসোগি হত্যাকাণ্ডের ঘটনায় অভিযুক্ত সৌদি যুবরাজ মোহাম্মদ বিন সালমানকে ‘দায়মুক্তি’ দিয়েছে বাইডেন প্রশাসন।
শুক্রবার (১৮ নভেম্বর) সংবাদমাধ্যম রয়টার্স ও ওয়াশিংটন পোস্ট পৃথক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানায়।
ওয়াশিংটনের আদালতে জামাল খাগোসি হত্যা নিয়ে চলমান মামলায় অভিযুক্তদের তালিকা থেকে প্রিন্স সালমানের নাম বাদ দেওয়া হবে।
২০১৮ সালের অক্টোবরে ইস্তাম্বুলের সৌদি কনস্যুলেটে হত্যা করা হয় খাসোগিকে। এজেন্টদের দিয়ে এই হত্যা স্বয়ং সৌদি যুবরাজ করিয়েছেন বলে মনে করেন মার্কিন গোয়েন্দারা।
এদিকে, হত্যা থেকে সৌদি যুবরাজকে দায়মুক্তির খবরে জামাল খাসোগির বাগদত্তা হেতিস চেঙ্গিস টুইটারে লিখেছেন, ‘আজ জামালের আবারও মৃত্যু হলো!’
তিনি টুইটারে লিখেছেন, ‘আমরা ভেবেছিলাম হয়তো যুক্তরাষ্ট্র থেকে ন্যায়বিচারের একটি আলো আসবে, কিন্তু আবারও অর্থেরই জয় হলো। জামাল এই বিশ্বকে জানে না এবং আমি…!’
যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের জাতীয় নিরাপত্তা কাউন্সিলের একজন মুখপাত্র লিখিত বিবৃতিতে বলেছেন, আন্তর্জাতিক আইনের দীর্ঘস্থায়ী এবং সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত নীতির অধীনে স্টেট ডিপার্টমেন্ট এই আইনগত সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।
