ঝিনাইদহ কালীগঞ্জে গত কাল সকাল ১০ টাই কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা প্রশাসনের আয়োজনে উপজেলা পরিষদ অডিটোরিয়ামে উপজেলা প্রশাসনের কর্মকর্তা জনাব ইশরাত জাহান এর সভাপতিত্বে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঝিনাইদহ ৪- আসনের মাননীয় জাতীয় সংসদ সদস্য জনাব মোঃ আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার,উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান জনাব মোঃ জাহাঙ্গীর সিদ্দিক ঠান্ডু, কলীগন্জ পৌর মেয়র জনাব মোঃ আশরাফুল আলম আশরাফ, উপজেলা ভাইস- চেয়ারম্যান জনাব মোঃ শীবলি নোমানী উপজেলা পরিষদ সকল চেয়ারম্যান বৃন্দ, উপজেলা প্রশাসনের সকল কর্মকর্তা ও সাবেক বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কমান্ডার মোঃ হেলাল সর্দার,ও মোঃ সেকেন্দার আলী, সহ সন্মানিত সুধী জন।
প্রধান অতিথি আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার বলেন,
১৯৭৩ সালের ২৩ মে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় সংসদের উত্তর প্লাজায় উন্মুক্ত চত্বরে সুসজ্জিত প্যান্ডেলে বিশ্ব শান্তি পরিষদ আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে আন্তর্জাতিক কূটনীতিকদের বিশাল সমাবেশে বিশ্ব শান্তি পরিষদের তৎকালীন মহাসচিব রমেশ চন্দ্র বঙ্গবন্ধুকে ‘জুলিও কুরি’ শান্তি পদক প্রদান করেন। এরপর তিনি বলেন, ‘শেখ মুজিব শুধু বঙ্গবন্ধু নন, আজ থেকে তিনি বিশ্ববন্ধুও বটে।’ জননেত্রী শেখ হাসিনা তিনার বাবার এই অনুপ্রেরণায় দেশ আজ শান্তিময় করেছে।
বিষেশ অতিথি, জাহাঙ্গীর সিদ্দিক ঠান্ডু বলেন,
বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়ের পর বিশ্ব শান্তি ও জাতীয় মুক্তি আন্দোলনের অগ্রদূত বঙ্গবন্ধুকে বিশ্ব শান্তি পরিষদের সর্বোচ্চ পুরস্কার ‘জুলিও কুরি’ শান্তি পদক প্রদান এক বিরল ঘটনা। বাংলাদেশ যখন স্বাধীন হয় তখন বিশ্ব পরিস্থিতি, শান্তি, প্রগতি, গণতান্ত্রিক শক্তিগুলোর এবং গণতন্ত্রও জাতীয় মুক্তি আন্দোলনের অনুকূলে পরিবর্তিত হয়েছিল। এ সময় উপমহাদেশে বাংলাদেশ, ভারত ও পাকিস্তানের ভেতর সৎ প্রতিবেশীমূলক সম্পর্ক স্থাপন ও উপমহাদেশে শান্তির সম্ভাবনা উজ্জ্বল হয়। মুক্তিযুদ্ধের কালপর্বে ভারত-সোভিয়েত শান্তি, মৈত্রী ও সহযোগিতা-চুক্তি ১৯৭১ এবং বাংলাদেশ-ভারত শান্তি, মৈত্রী ও সহযোগিতা-চুক্তি ১৯৭২, বাংলাদেশের মৈত্রী-সম্পর্কে এই উপমহাদেশে উত্তেজনা প্রশমন ও শান্তি স্থাপনের ভিত্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিল।
সভাপতির বক্তব্যে জনাব ইশরাত জাহান বলেন,
পাকিস্তানের প্রতিক্রিয়াশীল নীতির বিপরীতে বঙ্গবন্ধু সরকার কর্তৃক জোট নিরপেক্ষ নীতি অনুসরণ এবং শান্তি ও ন্যায়ের পক্ষে অবস্থান গ্রহণের নীতির ফলে বাংলাদেশ বিশ্বসভায় একটি ন্যায়ানুগ দেশের মর্যাদা লাভ করে। সবার প্রতি বন্ধুত্বের ভিত্তিতে বৈদেশিক নীতি ঘোষণা করে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বলেন, ‘পৃথিবীর বৃহত্তম শক্তি যে অর্থ ব্যয় করে মানুষ মারার অস্ত্র তৈরি করছে, সেই অর্থ গরিব দেশগুলোকে সাহায্য দিয়ে পৃথিবীতে শান্তি প্রতিষ্ঠা হতে পারে।এই শান্তি ময় দেশ আমরা চাই ধারা অব্যহত রাখা আমাদের দায়িত্ব ,সকল কে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে সভার সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন।
