দেশটাকে কারাগার বানানো হয়েছে: রিজভী
বিএনপির সিনিয়র যুগ্ম মহাসচিব রুহুল কবির রিজভী বলেছেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা পুরো দেশটাকে বড় কারাগার বানিয়ে ফেলেছেন। একদিকে সরকারের আজ্ঞাবহ নির্বাচন কমিশন বিএনপিকে আগামী নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে, অপরদিকে সিনিয়র নেতারা সর্বস্তরের নেতা-কর্মীকে গ্রেপ্তার ক্র্যাকডাউন শুরু হয়েছে। এটি যেন এক মহা তামাশা।
বিএনপি নেতা-কর্মীদের গ্রেপ্তারের নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানিয়ে রোববার (৫ নভেম্বর) দেওয়া এক বিবৃতিতে তিনি একথা বলেন।
রিজভী বলেন, বিএনপির বন্ধ কার্যালয়ে ইসির চিঠি পাঠানোও ছিল আরেকটি তামাশা। আসলে সরকার নিজেদেরকে অতি চালাক ভাবছে এবং সবকিছুতেই ধরাকে সরা জ্ঞান করছে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, নির্বাচনের আগে বিএনপিরসহ বিরোধীদলের নেতা-কর্মীদের যেভাবে সাঁড়াশি অভিযান চালিয়ে গ্রেপ্তার করা হচ্ছে তাতে এটি সুস্পষ্ট, আগামী নির্বাচন যেনতেন ভাবে করে আবারও রাষ্ট্রক্ষমতা দখলে নিতে বদ্ধপরিকর শাসকগোষ্ঠী।
এবার সরকারের এই স্বপ্ন জনগণ বাস্তবায়িত হতে দেবে না উল্লেখ করে রিজভী বলেন, ধারাবাহিকভাবে গ্রেপ্তারে প্রচণ্ড ক্ষোভ সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে এবং জনগণ আরও বলিয়ান হচ্ছে। বর্তমান সরকারের পদত্যাগসহ নির্বাচনকালীন নির্দলীয় নিরপেক্ষ সরকারব্যবস্থা বাস্তবায়ন ছাড়া জনগণ রাজপথ ছেড়ে ঘরে ফিরে যাবে না।
বিবৃতিতে গতকাল রাতে ঢাকা থেকে বিএনপির ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান ব্যারিস্টার শাহজাহান ওমর (বীর উত্তম), আজ ভোরে উত্তরা থেকে বিএনপির ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান এয়ার ভাইস মার্শাল (অবঃ) আলতাফ হোসেন চৌধুরী এবং গতকাল ঢাকা থেকে বিএনপির সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক (ময়মনসিংহ বিভাগ) সৈয়দ ইমরান সালেহ প্রিন্সকে গ্রেপ্তারের ঘটনায় নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ এবং নিঃশর্ত মুক্তির জোর আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।
