নতুন অধিনায়কের নাম ঘোষণা বিসিবির, বিশ্রামে লিটন
সদ্যই কন্যা সন্তানের বাবা হয়েছেন জাতীয় দলের উইকেটরক্ষক ব্যাটার লিটন দাস। আসন্ন নিউজিল্যান্ড সিরিজে ছুটি চেয়েছিলেন এই ব্যাটার। লিটনের আবেদন মঞ্জুর করে এক মাসের ছুটি দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)।
অন্যদিকে ইনজুরিতে রয়েছেন টাইগাদের নিয়মিত অধিনায়ক সাকিব আল হাসান। আর ছুটিতে সহ-অধিনায়ক লিটন। তাই নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে দলকে নেতৃত্ব দেবেন ব্যাটার নাজমুল হাসান শান্ত। বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন বিসিবির ক্রিকেট পরিচালনা বিভাগের প্রধান জালাল ইউনুস।
লিটনের ছুটি মঞ্জুর করায় শান্তকে অধিনায়ক করার কথা জানিয়ে জালাল ইউনুস বলেন, ‘সামনের দুটি টেস্টে শান্ত অধিনায়ক।’
লিটনের ছুটির বিষয়ে জালাল ইউনুস বলেন, ‘লিটন দুই মাসের জন্য ছুটি চেয়েছে। আমরা এক মাসের ছুটি দিয়েছি। সামনের দুটি টেস্ট সে খেলবে না। সে পরিবারকে সময় দিতে চাচ্ছে। আমরা প্রথম টেস্টটা খেলতে বলেছিলাম। কিন্তু সে বারবার ছুটির জন্য বলছিল। তাই ছুটি দিয়েছি।’
নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে সিরিজের প্রথম টেস্ট শুরু আগামী ২৮ নভেম্বর, সিলেটে। আর দ্বিতীয় টেস্টটি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে ঢাকায়, শুরু ৬ ডিসেম্বর।
