চুয়াডাঙ্গায় স্ত্রীর রহস্যজনক মৃত্যু \ স্বামী আটক

চুয়াডাঙ্গার আলমডাঙ্গা উপজেলায় খাদিজা খাতুন (২৭) নামের এক গৃহবধূকে গলায় ফাঁস লাগিয়ে হত্যার অভিযোগে স্বামী আলম হোসেনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। বুধবার (২৭ ডিসেম্বর) ভোরে আলমডাঙ্গা পৌর এলাকার কলেজপাড়ায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে। সংবাদ পেয়ে পুলিশ সকালে নিহত গৃহবধূর লাশ উদ্ধার করে মর্গে পাঠিয়েছে। নিহত গৃহবধূ খাদিজা খাতুন উপজেলার হারদি ইউনিয়নের কৃষিক্লাব পাড়ার ভিকু মিয়ার মেয়ে। অভিযুক্ত স্বামী আলম হোসেন (৩০) একই উপজেলার কালিদাসপুর ইউনিয়নের মোনাকষা গ্রামের আব্দুল আজিজের ছেলে। স্থানীয়রা জানান, প্রেম করে খাদিজা-আলম ১ বছর আগে বিয়ে করে। এটা দুজনেরই তৃতীয় বিয়ে। খাদিজা তার স্বামীর সঙ্গে পৌর এলাকার কলেজপাড়া এলাকায় ভাড়া বাসায় থাকতেন। বৃহস্পতিবার দিবাগত রাতে নিহত খাদিজার স্বামী তাকে মারপিট করে গলাঁয় ফাঁস লাগিয়ে রুমের জানালার গ্রিলে ঝুঁলিয়ে রাখে। সারারাত লাশ পাহারা দিয়ে ভোরে প্রতিবেশীদের জানায় তার স্ত্রী গলায় ফাঁস লাগিয়ে আতœহত্যা করেছে। তারপর সে নিজেই থানায় উপস্থিত হয়ে স্ত্রীর আতœহত্যার ঘটনাটি জানায় পুলিশকে। নিহত গৃহবধু খাদিজার ভাই আব্দুস সামাদ অভিযোগ করে বলেন, তার বোনকে এর আগেও আলম ও তার পরিবারের লোকজন যৌতুকের জন্য নির্যাতন করেছিলেন। এমন ঘটনার পরই গত দু’মাস কলেজপাড়ার একটি বাসা ভাড়া নিয়ে দুজনে বসবাস করত। এবার তার বোনকে গলায় ফাঁস লাগিয়ে মেরে ফেলা হয়েছে। নিহত খাদিজার মা আশুরা বেগম অভিযোগ করে বলেন, আমার মেয়ে দুই মাসের অন্তঃসত্তা ছিল। গত এক বছর আগে আলমের সঙ্গে বিবাহ হয় খাদিজার। বিয়ের পর থেকে ছোটখাট বিষয়ে মেয়েকে মারধর করতো স্বামী আলম ও তার পরিবারের সদস্যরা মঙ্গলবার (২৬ ডিরসম্বর) দিবাগত রাতে যে কোন সময় আমার মেয়েকে হত্যা করে ঝুলিয়ে রেখেছে। আমি এর সুষ্ঠ বিচার চাই। আলমডাঙ্গা থানা পুলিশের পরিদর্শক (ওসি) শেখ গনি মিয়া বলেন, সকালে আলম নিজেই আমাদেরকে জানান, তার স্ত্রী আত্মহত্যা করেছে। আমরা ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে খাদিজার ঝুলন্ত মরদেহ উদ্ধার করি। ময়নাতদন্তের পর জানা যাবে এটা হত্যা নাকি আত্মহত্যা। স্বামী আলম হোসেনকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ।
