পাকিস্তান পিপলস পার্টি (পিপিপি) ও পাকিস্তান মুসলিম লীগ-নওয়াজ (পিএমএল-এন) ক্ষমতা ভাগাভাগি চুক্তির অধীনে পাঁচ বছরের জন্য সরকার গঠনের সম্ভাব্য আলোচনা করেছে বলে জানিয়েছে জিও নিউজ। এর ফলে উভয় দল থেকে তিন ও দুই বছরের জন্য প্রধানমন্ত্রী হতে পারে।

লাহোরের বিলাওয়াল হাউজে রোববারের বৈঠকে দুই পক্ষই সাধারণ নির্বাচনের পর দেশের রাজনৈতিক স্থিতিশীলতার জন্য সহযোগিতা করতে নীতিগতভাবে সম্মত হয়েছে।
বৈঠকে পিপিপি-পার্লামেন্টারিয়ান প্রেসিডেন্ট আসিফ আলি জারদারি, পিপিপি চেয়ারম্যান বিলাওয়াল-ভুট্টো জারদারি ও পিএমএল-এন থেকে সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শাহবাজ শরিফ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

পিএমএল-এন প্রতিনিধি দলে ছিলেন আজম নাজির তারার, আয়াজ সাদিক, আহসান ইকবাল, রানা তানভীর, খাজা সাদ রফিক, মালিক আহমেদ খান, মরিয়ম আওরঙ্গজেব ও শেজা ফাতিমা।
যৌথ বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, আলোচনার মূল বিষয়গুলো ছিল পাকিস্তানের সামগ্রিক পরিস্থিতির মূল্যায়ন, ভবিষ্যৎ রাজনৈতিক কৌশল নিয়ে আলোচনা এবং বোর্ড জুড়ে স্থিতিশীলতা ও অগ্রগতি প্রচারের লক্ষ্যে সুপারিশ বিনিময়।
