চুয়াডাঙ্গায় গত ৩ দিনের তীব্র তাপমাত্রা সোমবার (২২ এপ্রিল) কিছুটা কমেছে। সোমবার বিকেল ৬ টায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্র ৪০ দশমিক ৬ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস চুয়াডাঙ্গায় রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে। এ সময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ৩৯ শতাংশ। চুয়াডাঙ্গায় তীব্র দাবদাহে গত দুদিনে ৩ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। হিট স্ট্রক ও ডায়রিয়া রোগে আক্রান্ত হয়ে এক নারীসহ দুজন মারা গেছেন। অসুস্থ হয়ে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি আছেন অনেকেই। রোববার (২১ এপ্রিল) দুপুরে চুয়াডাঙ্গা সদর হাসপাতালে ডায়রিয়া চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় মুত্যু হয় নির্মাণ শ্রমিক সিদ্দীক আলীর (৪৫)। নিহত সিদ্দিক আলী দামুড়হুদা উপজেলার পুরোনো বাস্তপুর গ্রামের আজিজুল হকের ছেলে। সিদ্দীক আলী দু’দিন ধরে চুয়াডাঙ্গা শহরে রড মিস্ত্রীর কাজ করছিলেন। শুক্রবার তিনি তীব্র গরমে ডায়রিয়া আক্রান্ত হয়ে প্রচÐ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন। এরপর শনিবার রাতে তাকে চুয়াডাঙ্গা সদর হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। সেখানে রোববার দুপুর ১টার দিকে তার মৃত্যু হয়। সিদ্দীক আলীর ভাই সিরাজ মাস্টার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। এদিকে শনিবার ৪২.৪ ডিগ্রী তাপদাহের দিন চুয়াডাঙ্গার দামুড়হুদা উপজেলা হিটস্ট্রোকে এক যুবক ও এক নারীর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শনিবার বিকেল ৩টার দিকে তীব্র তাপমাত্রায় হিটস্ট্রোক দামুড়হুদা উপজেলা সদরে মর্জিনা খাতুন (৬০) নামে এক নারী মারা যান। নিহত মর্জিনা খাতুন উপজেলা সদরের ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ পাড়ার আজিম উদ্দীনের স্ত্রী। নিহত মর্জিনা খাতুনের ছেলে কামরুল ইসলাম কামু জানান, বেলা ৩টার দিকে অতিরিক্ত তাপে আমার মা (মর্জিনা খাতুন) হটাৎ অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন। এ সময় আমরা মাকে দামুড়হুদা উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নেওয়ার জন্য অটো ভ্যানে উঠানোর সঙ্গেই মা মারা যান। এর আগে শনিবার সকাল ৭ টার দিকে মাঠে কৃষিকাজ করতে গিয়ে প্রচÐ গরমে স্ট্রক করেন সীমান্তবর্তী ঠাকুরপুর গ্রামের জাকির হোসেন (৩৬)। হাসপাতালে নেওয়ার পথে সকাল ৮টার দিকে তিনি মারা যান। গত কয়েক দিন ধরে চুয়াডাঙ্গার উপর দিয়ে বয়ে যাচ্ছে মাঝারি থেকে তীব্র ও অতি তীব্র তাপদাহ। এই তাপদাহে জেলায় হিট এলাট জারি করে মাইকিং করা হচ্ছে এক সপ্তাহ থেকে। চুয়াডাঙ্গা প্রথম শ্রেণির আবহাওয়া পর্যবেক্ষণাগারের ইনচার্জ জামিনুর রহমান জানান, সোমবার (২২ এপ্রিল) সকাল ৯ টায় এ জেলার তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড হয় ৩১ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস। এ সময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ৭৫ শতাংশ। দুপুর ১২ তপমাত্রা রেকর্ড হয় ৩৮ দশমিক ২ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস। এসময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ২৫ শতাংশ। বেলা ৩ টায় সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয় ৪০ দশমিক ৬ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস। এসময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ১৬ শতাংশ। এবং বিকেল ৬ টায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা ৪০ দশমিক ৬ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস যৌথ ভাবে রেকর্ড করা হয় চুয়াডাঙ্গা, যশোর ও খুলনায়। গত এক সপ্তাহ ধরে চুয়াডাঙ্গায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা বিরাজ করছে। হিট এলার্ট জারী আছে। এর মধ্যে তাপমাত্রার পারদ সর্বোচ্চ ৪২ দশমিক ৪ ডিগ্রীতে উঠে গেছে। এপ্রিল মাস জুড়েই এ অবস্থা থাকবে। তাপমাত্রা আরো বাড়বে। চুয়াডাঙ্গা জেলা প্রশাসক ড. কিসিঞ্জার চাকমা বলেন, রোববার দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনার একটি মিটিং করেছি। সবাইকে নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে। যেহেতু হিট স্ট্রক হচ্ছে। সেহেতু সাবধানতা অবলম্বন করতে হবে। সেই সঙ্গে সবার যে অবলম্বন বিশেষ করে কৃষি, গবাদি পশু-পাখির প্রতি যতœশীল হতে হবে এ মুহূর্তে। তিনি আরও বলেন, আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর থেকে যে তথ্য ও নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হচ্ছে সে অনুযায়ী মাইকিং করা হচ্ছে।
