ঝিনাইদহ-৪ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য ও কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা আ’লীগের সভাপতি আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার ভারতে নৃশংসভাবে খুন হয়েছেন। তাকে পৈচাশিক কায়দায় টুকরো টুকরো করে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। বুধবার (২২ মে) সকালে ভারতের নিউটাউন এলাকার সঞ্জিভা গার্ডেন নামে একটি অভিজাত হোটেলের ৫৬/বি ইউ ফ্ল্যাট থেকে আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনারের খন্ডিত দেহ উদ্ধার করে ভারতীয় পুলিশ। এ ঘটনায় বাংলাদেশী পুলিশ তিনজনকে ও ভারতীয় পুলিশ ২ জনকে আটকের কথা জানিয়েছে। তবে আনারের পুরো দেহ এখনো উদ্ধার করতে পারেনি ভারতীয় পুলিশ। বাংলাদেশের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান কামাল বুধবার দুপুরে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে জানিয়েছেন, তিনবারের সংসদ সদস্য আনার খুন হয়েছেন, এটা নিশ্চিত। গোটা বিষয়টি বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতীয় পুলিশ যৌথভাবে তদন্ত করছে। এ ঘটনার সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের মিসক্রিয়েন্টরাই জড়িত।
দর্শনা ইমিগ্রেশন থানার ওসি এমদাদুল হক জানান, গত ১২ মে দুপুরে সংসদ সদস্য আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার লাল পাসপোর্ট ব্যবহার করে গেদে সীমান্ত দিয়ে ভারতে প্রবেশ করেন।
আনারের পরিবারিক সুত্রে জানা গেছে, চিকিৎসার জন্য ভারতে গিয়ে তিনি পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বরাহনগর থানার ১৭/৩ মন্ডলপাড়ার লেনের বাড়িতে ওঠেন। বাড়িটি আনারের ২৫ বছরের ঘনিষ্ট বন্ধু স্বর্ণ ব্যবসায়ী গোপাল বিশ^াসের।
পর দিন ১৩ মে ডাক্তার দেখাতে যাওয়ার কথা বলে গোপাল বিশ^াসের বাড়ি থেকে তিনি বেরিয়ে যান। এরপর তিনি বরাহনগর বিধানপার্ক এলাকার কলকাতা পাবলিক স্কুলের সামনে থেকে গাড়িতে উঠতে দেখা যায়। ওই দিন গোপাল বিশ^াসকে সরাসরি ফোন করে নয়, হোটসঅ্যপস থেকে ম্যাসেজ করে এমপি আনার জানান, “তিনি রাতে আসছেন না। তাই খাবারও খাবেন না। জরুরী কাজে দিল্লি যাচ্ছেন। সঙ্গে কিছু ভিআইপি আছেন”। পরদিন বাংলাদেশে তার স্বজনদের কাছেও এমন রহস্যজনক হোটসঅ্যপস থেকে ম্যাসেজ আসতে থাকে। ফোনে না পেয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন হয়ে পড়েন ভারতীয় বন্ধু স্বর্ণ ব্যবসায়ী গোপাল বিশ^াস। এরপর ১৮ মে বরাহনগর থানায় নিখোঁজ ডায়েরী করেন বন্ধু গোপাল বিশ^াস। ১৯ মে পরিবারের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে যাওয়া এই সংসদ সদস্যের পরিবার রাজধানীর মিন্টু রোডে ডিবি কার্যালয়ে গিয়ে ডিবি প্রধান হারুন অর রশিদকে জানান। ডিবি প্রধান ওই দিন গনমাধ্যমকর্মীদের জানিয়েছিলেন, এমপি সাহেব ভারতে গিয়ে দুইটি মোবাইল সিম ব্যবহার করেছেন। যার একটি বাংলাদেশী ও আরেকটি ভারতের। সিম দুইটি ট্রাকিং করে দেখা যায় বাংলাদেশী সিমের অবস্থান বেনাপোল সীমান্তে ও ভারতীয় সিমের অবস্থান মুজাফরাবাদে। এখন দুইটি সিমই রিজেক্ট দেখাচ্ছে। সংসদ সদস্যের ব্যক্তিগত সহকারী (পিএস) আব্দুর রউফ জানান, গত ১২ মে সংসদ সদস্য আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার চিকিৎসার জন্য ভারতে যান। ভারতে যাওয়ার একদনি পরই পরিবারের সঙ্গে তার সব ধরণের যোগাযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে যায়। গত ১৬ মে সকাল ৭টা ৪৬ মিনিটে এমপির ফোন থেকে তার নম্বরে সর্বশেষ কল আসে। কলটি ধরতে পারেননি পিএস। এক মিনিট পর পিএস তাকে কল করলে ওপাশ থেকে রিসিভ হয়নি। এরপর থেকে আনারের সঙ্গে আর যোগাযোগ নেই পরিবারের সদস্যদের। ওইদিন ঝিনাইদহ জেলা আ’লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সাইদুল করিম মিন্টুর নাম্বারেও ফোন দেন। তিনিও অত সকালে ফোন ধরতে পারেননি। ফোনে আনার কি বলতে চেয়েছিলেন তা হয়তো রহস্যবৃত্তেই থেকে যাবে। আনার কি আসলে তার সমুহ বিপদের কথা বলতে চেয়েছিলেন ? নাকি ঘাতকরাই ফোনটি করেছিল এমন প্রশ্ন উঠছে জনমনে।
এদিকে বরাহনগর বিধানপার্ক এলাকার কলকাতা পাবলিক স্কুলের সামনে থেকে গাড়িতে যাওয়ার সময় তার সঙ্গে কয়েকজন সঙ্গীকে দেখা যায়। এই সঙ্গীদের নিয়েই রহস্য ঘনিভুত হয়ে উঠেছে। কেন এবং কি কারণে তাকে হোটেলে নিয়ে এভাবে নৃশংসভাবে খুন করা হলো তার মোটিভ উদ্ধারে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দারা মাঠে নেমেছেন। স্বর্ণ চোরাচালান নিয়ে সৃষ্টি বিরোধের জের ধরে তাকে হত্যা করা হতে পারে এমন মোটিভ নিয়ে এগুচ্ছে পুলিশ। ভারতের সঞ্জিভা গার্ডেনের ওই ফ্ল্যাটটি ভাড়া নিয়েছিলেন মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র প্রবাসি একজন ভারতীয়। সিসিটিভির ফুটেজ দেখে ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দরা নিশ্চিত হয়েছেন, ১৩ মে তারিখে ওই ফ্ল্যাটটিতে একজন মহিলা ও দুইজন পরুষ একাধিকবার যাতায়াত করেছেন। এ সময় তারা অভিজাত ওই হোটেলের ৫৬/বি ইউ গাড়ির পার্কিং লট ব্যবহার করেছেন। ফলে কুন সহজেই খুনিদের সনাক্ত করতে পারবেন বলে ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দারা মনে করছে।
আনারের উত্থান যেভাবে
আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার ছিলেন একজন ভালো ফুটবলার। কালীগঞ্জ শহরের মধুগঞ্জ এলাকায় তার বাড়ি। ক্রাড়াঙ্গনের পরিচিত মুখ পরবর্তীতে তাকে জনপ্রতিনিধি হতে সহায়তা করে। আনার ফুটবলের পাশাপাশি দক্ষ একজন ক্রীড়া সংগঠক হিসেবে নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে সক্ষম হন। প্রথম তিনি কালীগঞ্জ পৌরসভার ৫ নং ওয়ার্ডের কমিশনার হিসেবে নির্বাচতি হন। এরপর রাজনীতির অনেক চড়াই উতরাই পার করে নিজের আসন পাকাপোক্ত করতে সক্ষম হন। ২০০৯ সালে তিনি কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা নির্বাচনে বিপুল ভোটে চেয়ারম্যান পদে জয়লাভ করেন। নির্বাচনে জিতে তিনি কালীগঞ্জ শাসন করেছেন এক হাতে। সে সময় তার প্রতিপক্ষ ছিলেন এমপি আব্দুল মান্নান। আনারের সাংগঠনিক কৌশলের কাছে এমপি হয়েও আব্দুল মান্নান ধরাশায়ী হয়ে পড়েন। বুদ্ধিদিপ্ত রাজনীতি ও মাঠের শক্তিমত্বা দেখিয়ে ২০১৪, ২০১৮ ও ২০২৪ সালের সংসদ নির্বাচনে দলীয় মনোনয়ন লাভ করেন আনার। তিনবার এমপি নির্বাচতি হয়ে নিজের জনপ্রিয়তার পারদ সবাইকে জানিয়ে দেন। সর্বশেষ বুধবার সকালে (২২ মে) প্রভাবশালী এই সরকারদলীয় সংসদ সদস্যের ক্ষত বিক্ষত খন্ডিত লাশ উদ্ধারের মধ্য দিয়ে সবার প্রিয় আনার অধ্যায়ের পরিসমাপ্তি ঘটে।
যে সব কারণে তিনি খুন হতে পারেন
চিকিৎসার জন্য ভারতে যাওয়া কথা বলা হলেও তিনি আসলে ব্যবসার কাজে গেছেন। তার সঙ্গে পরিবারের কোন লোকজন ছিল না। ছিল না কোন দলীয় নেতাকর্মী। এ নিয়ে ভারতীয় গোয়েন্দারা প্রশ্ন তুলেছেন। এক ভিডিওতে দেখা গেছে তিনি যখন দর্শনা বর্ডার দিয়ে গেদে সীমান্ত পার হচ্ছিলেন তখন তিনি একাই ছিলেন। তার কাছে ছোট একটা ব্যাগ ছিল। তার ভারতে যাওয়া ও নিহত হওয়ায় নিয়ে দেশী বিদেশী গনমাধ্যমে যেসব খবর প্রকাশিত হচ্ছে, তাতে বলা হচ্ছে স্বর্ণ চোরাচালানের বিরোধ নিয়ে তাকে হত্যা করা হতে পারে। এই খুনের নেপথ্যে কুষ্টিয়ার পলাতক চরমপন্থি নেতা মুকুল বাহিনীর প্রধান আমিনুল ইসলাম মুকুলের হাত থাকতে পারে। কুষ্টিয়ার চরমপন্থি মুকুল বাহিনীর সঙ্গে ঘনিষ্ঠ যোগাযোগ ছিল এমপি আনারের। ওই বাহিনীর সদস্যরা নারী দিয়ে ফাঁদ পেতে তাকে অপহরণ করে থাকতে পারে। এরই মধ্যে সন্দেহভাজন তিনজনকে পুলিশ আটক করেছে। পুলিশের একটি সূত্র বলছে, একাধিক বিষয় সামনে রেখে তদন্ত করা হচ্ছে। এক সময় ইন্টারপোলের ওয়ারেন্টভুক্ত আসামী আনার হত্যার পেছনে আর্থিক কোনো বিরোধ রয়েছে কি না, ব্যক্তিগত রাজনৈতিক শত্রæতা, নারীঘটিত বিষয়, স্বর্ণ চোরাচালান নিয়ে দর্শনার সাইফুল হত্যা ও সীমান্ত কেন্দ্রীক অবৈধ কারবার। পুলিশের সুত্র জানায়, এক সময় আর্ন্তাজাতিক পুলিশ সংস্থা ইন্টারপোলের ওয়ারেন্টভুক্ত ছিলেন আনার। আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র ও বিস্ফোরক দ্রব্য ব্যবহার সংক্রান্ত অপরাধে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে ২০০৬ সালে ইন্টারপোলের তালিকায় তার নাম ওঠে। ২০০৯ সালে ইন্টারপোলের ওয়ান্টেড তালিকা থেকে নাম প্রত্যাহার হওয়ার পর দীর্ঘদিন ভারতে পালিয়ে থাকার পর এলাকায় ফিরে আসেন। আনারের বিরুদ্ধে অস্ত্র, বিস্ফোরক, মাদকদ্রব্য, স্বর্ণ চোরাচালান, চাঁদাবাজি, টেন্ডারবাজি, দখলবাজি এবং চরমপন্থিদের আশ্রয় দেওয়ার অভিযোগে ৯টির বেশি মামলা ছিল। ইন্টারপোলের ওয়ান্টেড আসামি হিসেবে পুলিশ একবার তাকে আটক করলেও পুলিশের ওপর আক্রমণ করে তাকে ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছিল তার সমর্থকরা। ওই ঘটনায় তার বিরুদ্ধে পুলিশ বাদী হয়ে মামলা করে। চারদলীয় জোট সরকারের আমলে যৌথ বাহিনীর অপারেশনের সময় সীমান্ত পাড়ি দিয়ে আত্মগোপনে চলে যান আনার।
১৯৮৬ সালের দিকে জাতীয় পার্টি ক্ষমতায় থাকাকালে আনার মাদক কারবারে জড়িয়ে পড়েন বলে অভিযোগ। ভারতের বাগদা সীমান্ত দিয়ে বাংলাদেশের বাঘাভাঙ্গা সীমান্ত পথে ভিসিআর চোরাচালান করতেন তিনি। চোরাচালান বাণিজ্য থেকে আনার দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের ‘মাদক স¤্রাট’ হিসেবে পরিচিতি লাভ করেন। এই মাদক কারবারের মাধ্যমে বিপুল অর্থবিত্তের মালিকও বনে যান তিনি। ১৯৯১ সালে আনার ঝিনাইদহের আরেক চোরাকারবারি পরিতোষ ঠাকুরের সঙ্গে মিলে স্বর্ণ চোরাচালানের সঙ্গে জড়িয়ে পড়েন। স্বর্ণের বড় বড় চালান রাজধানী থেকে বাঘাডাঙ্গা সীমান্ত দিয়ে ভারতে পাচার করতেন তারা। ২০০৭ সালে চুয়াডাঙ্গার লোকনাথপুর এলাকা থেকে ১২ কেজি ৯৫০ প্রাম স্বর্ণ আটক করে তৎকালীন সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনী বিডিআর। চোরাকারবারিরা নিশ্চিত হয় যে, দর্শনা শ্যামপুরের সিঅ্যান্ডএফ ব্যবসায়ী সাইফুল ইসলাম স্বর্ণগুলো ধরিয়ে দিয়েছেন। ওই ঘটনায় টার্গেট কিলিংয়ের শিকার হন শ্যামপুর গ্রামের সাইফুল। তিনি নিজেও স্বর্ণ চোরাকারবারিদের সিন্ডিকেটে যুক্ত ছিলেন। ওই হত্যা মামলায় আনারসহ আসামি করা হয় ২৫ জনকে। কুষ্টিয়ার চরমপন্থি নেতা মুকুল, শাহীন, রুমী, ঝিনাইদহের চোরাকারবারি পরিতোষ ঠাকুর ও আনারসহ ১৯ জনের বিরুদ্ধে পরের বছর আদালতে অভিযোগপত্র দেয় পুলিশ। ২০১২ সালে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের সুপারিশে রাজনৈতিক বিবেচনায় পরিতোষ ও আনারসহ বেশ কয়েকজন মামলা থেকে অব্যাহতি পান। এ মামলায় আনারকে গ্রেপ্তার করার জন্য ২০০৯ সালে গণবিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করেছিলেন চুয়াডাঙ্গার বিশেষ আদালত। এর দশ দিন পর ওই বছরের ২১ জানুয়ারি তাকে গ্রেপ্তারের জন্য অভিযান চালায় পুলিশ। ২০০৯ সালে আওয়ামী লীগ সরকার গঠন করলে ধীরে ধীরে আনারের বিরুদ্ধে থাকা মামলাগুলো কমে যেতে শুরু করে। ২০১৪ সালে আওয়ামী লীগের মনোনয়নে এমপি নির্বাচিত হয়ে বেশিরভাগ মামলা থেকে নিজেকে মুক্ত করেন আনার। জমে থাকা পুরানো বিরোধ অথবা নতুন কোন ব্যবসায়ীক ঝামেলা থেকে আনার খুনের শিকার হতে পারেন। অপরাধ বিশেষজ্ঞদের ভাষ্যমতে ঘাতকদের হত্যার কৌশল দেখে মনে হয়েছে দীর্ঘদিনের পুজ্ঞিভুত ক্ষোভ, ঘৃনা ও বিদ্বেষ থেকেই এ ভাবে একজন মানুষকে টুকরো টুকরো করে হত্যা করতে পারে। একজন সংসদ সদস্যের এমন নৃশংস হত্যাকান্ডে বিশ^বাসি হতবাক ও বিস্মিত হয়েছেন।
শোকে স্তব্ধ কালীগঞ্জ
সংসদ সদস্য আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনারের নিহত হওয়ার খবর বুধবার সালে তার নিজ নির্বাচনী এলাকায় পৌছালে আত্মীয় স্বজন ও দলীয় নেতাকর্মীদের মাঝে শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে। শোকে স্তব্ধ হয়ে পড়ে গোটা কালীগঞ্জ। শোকে কাতর হতবিহবল নেতাকর্মীরা ছুটে আসেন তার ভুষন পাইলট স্কুলপাড়ার বাড়িতে। বেলা বাড়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে গোটা কালীগঞ্জ শহর শোকাতুর হয়ে হৃদয়বিদারক দৃশ্যের অবতারণা ঘটে। আত্মীয় স্বজনদের পাশাপাশি অনেক নেতাকর্মীকে বুক চাপড়ে কাঁদতে দেখা যায়। দেশ স্বাধীনের পর ভারতের মাটিতে একজন বাংলাদেশী এমপি খুনের বিচার দাবী করেন কালীগঞ্জের নেতাকর্মীরা। তারা ভারতের কাছে খুনের জবাবও চেয়েছেন।
ঢাকায় অবস্থানরত এমপির ছোট মেয়ে মুমতারিন ফেরদৌস ডরিন পিতার মৃত্যুর খবর শুনে কান্নায় ভেঙ্গে পড়েন। তিনি গনমাধ্যমকর্মীদের জানান, যার বাবা নেই, তার দুনিয়ায় কেউ নেই। আমার বাবাকে কেন খুন করা হলো তার জবাব চাই। ছোট বেলায় আমার বাবাকে কাছে পায়নি। কারণ তিনি মামলা হামলার ভয়ে পালিয়ে বেড়াতেন। এখন বড় হয়ে বাবাকে আর কাছে পাবো না। ঘাতকরা আমাকে এতিম করে দিয়েছেন। আমি ঘাতকদের ফাঁসি দেকতে চাই। তিনি কারো সন্দেহ করছেন না বলেও জানান।
কালীগঞ্জ পৌর আওয়ামীলীগের নেতা মাসুদুর রহমান মন্টু বুক চাপড়ে কাঁদতে কাঁদতে বলেন, আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার নিরহংকার মানুষ ছিলেন। তিনি রাতদিন মটরসাইকেলে ঘুরেছেন। তিনি কাউকে কোনদিন শত্রæ মনে করেননি। মানুষের উপকার ছাড়া তিনি কারো ক্ষতি করেননি। তিনি অভিযোগ করে বলেন, এটা পরিকল্পিত হত্যাকান্ড। এ ঘটনার সঙ্গে আমাদের দেশের লোক জড়িত।
কালীগঞ্জের সাবেক পৌর মেয়র মোস্তাফিজুর রহমান বিজু জানান, তিনি ভালবাসা দিয়ে কালীগঞ্জের মানুষের মন জয় করেছিলেন। মানুষের দুঃখে ছুটে যেতেন। সেক্ষেত্রে রাতদিন ছিল না।
কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান শিবলী নোমানী বলেন, কালীগঞ্জবাসি একজন বন্ধু, ভালো পিতা সর্বপরি একজন অভিভাবককে হারালেন। তিনি বলেন, এভাবে তাকে যে খুন করা হবে তা ভাবতেও অবাক লাগে। তাকে হারিয়ে আমরা মর্মাহত ও বাকরুদ্ধ। তিনি এই হত্যাকান্ডোর বিচার দাবী করেন।
কালীগঞ্জ পৌরসভার সংরক্ষিত মহিলা কাউন্সিলর বিনা খাতুন বাস্পরুদ্ধ কন্ঠে বলেন, “আমাদের সোনার জামাই কিভাবে চলে গেল। তার টাকা পয়সা সব কিছু নিয়ে যেত, আমাদের জামাইকে ফিরিয়ে দিত। কেন এভাবে নিয়ে গেল। সে তো কাউকে ক্ষতি করেনি। তাকে কেন মেরে ফেলা হলো। আমরা এর বিচার চাই”। বুধবার দুপুরে এমপির বাস ভবনের নীচে এভাবেই বিলাপ করছিলেন তিনি। এমপি আনারের বাড়ির সিঁড়িতে বসে বিলাপ করছিলেন, রুবেল হোসেন নামে এক কর্মী। তিনি বলেন ভারত যাওয়ার আগে তার সাথে শেষ কথা হয়। এসম এমপি তাকে বলেছিলেন গরিব মানুষের চেকগুলো তুলে রাখ। আমি ফিরে এসে বিতরণ করবো।
কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলার ১নং সুন্দরপুর দূর্গাপুর ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান ওহিদুজ্জামান ওদু বলেন, এমপির সাথে কারো কোন বিরোধ ছিল না। যা ছিল তা খুবই সামান্য কিন্তু তার জনপ্রিয়তা ছিল অনেক।
ঝিনাইদহ-২ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য মোঃ নাসের শাহরিয়ার জাহেদী মহুল এক শোক বর্তায় উল্লেখ করেছেন, আনোয়ারুল আজিম আনার একজন সজ্জন রাজনীতিবিদ ছিলেন। তিনি মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করে শোক সন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করেন।
সর্বশেষ যা জানা যাচ্ছে
কলকাতার নিউটাউনের সঞ্জিবা গার্ডেনের যে ফ্ল্যাটে এমপি আনারের খন্ডিত মৃতদেহ পাওয়া গেছে সেটি ভারতীয় শুল্ক দফতরের একজন কর্মকর্তার। আর তা ভাড়া দেয়া হয়েছিল একজন বাংলাদেশি নাগরিকের কাছে। এই ফ্ল্যাটেই গত ১৩ মে এমপি আনার খুন হয়ে থাকতে পারেন বলে পুলিশ ধারনা করছে। প্রায় ২০০ কোটি টাকার প্রজেক্ট নিয়ে সেখানে আলোচনা হচ্ছিল বলে ভারতীয় পুলিশ ক্লু পেয়েছে। এই চক্রের সাথে মোট ৬ জন জড়িত বলেও ধারনা করছেন তারা। এদের মধ্যে বাংলাদেশি যেমন রয়েছে, আছে ভারতীয় নাগরিকও। এখন এই ২০০ কোটি টাকার ব্যবসা কি আসলেই সত্য ? নাকি ব্যবসার এমন টোপ দিয়ে তাকে ফাঁদে ফেলানো হয়েছিল। এমপি আনারের মরদেহের খন্ডিত অংশ ডিএনএ পরীক্ষার জন্য বুধবার বিকালে পাঠিয়েছে ভারতীয় পুলিশ। রিপোর্ট পাওয়ার পর বিষয়টি আরও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যাবে।
