তীব্র লড়াই হেলমান্দে ৭৭ তালেবান নিহত
আফগান বাহিনী ও তালেবানের মধ্যে লড়াই ক্রমেই বাড়ছে। এরইমধ্যে আফগানিস্তানের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের হেলমান্দ প্রদেশের রাজধানী লস্করগাহের দখল নিতে যাচ্ছে তালেবান। প্রদেশটিতে দখলের বিনিময়ে তারা যেন জীবনবাজি রাখতেও পেছু হটছে না। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় প্রদেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে হামলায় ৭৭ তালেবান নিহত হয়েছেন বলে জানা গেছে। মঙ্গলবার আফগানিস্তানের প্রতিরক্ষা প্রতিমন্ত্রীর মুখপাত্র ফাওয়া আমান এ তথ্য জানিয়েছেন। বার্তা সংস্থা এএনআইয়ের খবরে বলা হয়েছে, ফাওয়াদ আমান বলেন, নিহত এ ৭৭ জনের মধ্যে তিনজন তালেবানের সামরিক কমিশনের প্রধান। এ ছাড়া সরকারি বাহিনীর হামলায় ২২ জন তালেবান আহত হয়েছেন। তিনি বলেন, হেলমান্দ প্রদেশের রাজধানী লস্করগাহের আশপাশের এলাকায় তালেবানদের লক্ষ্য করে এসব হামলা চালানো হয়। এর আগে হেলমান্দে বিমান হামলা চালিয়েছিল যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বাহিনী। ওই হামলায় কমপক্ষে ৪০ জন তালেবান নিহত হন। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সেনা প্রত্যাহার শুরুর পর থেকে তালেবানের হামলা বেড়েছে। সরকারি বাহিনীর সঙ্গে তালেবানের লড়াই তীব্র থেকে তীব্রতর হচ্ছে। দেশটিতে তালেবান এ পর্যন্ত ২২৩টি জেলার নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়েছে। এ ছাড়া ১১৬টি জেলায় লড়াই চলছে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রভিত্তিক গণমাধ্যম লং ওয়ার জার্নালের দেওয়া তথ্য অনুসারে, দেশটির ৩৪টি প্রদেশের মধ্যে ১৭টির রাজধানী তালবানের দখলে চলে যাওয়ার হুমকিতে রয়েছে। এদিকে ব্রিটিশ সংবাদমাধ্যম বিবিসি বলছে, আফগানিস্তানের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শহর লস্করগাহের নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে নিলে তালেবানের কাছে আফগানিস্তানের প্রথম কোনো প্রাদেশিক রাজধানীর পতন হবে এটি।
