মিয়ানমারে বেশি দামে চাল বিক্রি করায় জাপানি নাগরিকসহ আটক ১১
নির্ধারিত মাত্রার চেয়ে বেশি দামে চাল বিক্রি করায় এক জাপানি নির্বাহীসহ ১১ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে মিয়ানমারের সামরিক কর্তৃপক্ষ। সোমবার (১ জুলাই) কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন, আটকদের মধ্যে পাইকার, মিল মালিক ও খুচরা বিক্রেতা রয়েছেন। খবর আল জাজিরার।
অভিযোগ রয়েছে, দেশে চলমান সংঘাতের মধ্যে গভীর অর্থনৈতিক অস্থিতিশীলতার ফলে কর্তৃপক্ষের নির্ধারিত মাত্রার চেয়ে ৭০ শতাংশ পর্যন্ত বেশি দামে চাল বিক্রি করছিলেন তারা।
জাপানি নির্বাহীর গ্রেপ্তার হওায় টোকিওর সঙ্গে মিয়ানমারের মনোমালিন্য সৃষ্টি করেছে বলে গুঞ্জন উঠেছে।
তবে রোববার কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে, হিরোশি কাসামাতসু নামের ওই নির্বাহীর বিরুদ্ধে যথাযথ তদন্তসাপেক্ষে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। তদন্তে বলা হয়েছে, কাসামাতসু এবং তিন মিয়ানমারের নাগরিক অর্থনৈতিক বিশৃঙ্খলা সৃষ্টির লক্ষ্যে মূল্যবৃদ্ধি করেছেন।
এই বিষয়ে মন্তব্য জানতে টেলিফোন করা হলেও জান্তার একজন মুখপাত্র সাড়া দেননি বলে জানিয়েছে ব্রিটিশ বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্স। সুপারমার্কেট চেইন ইয়ন অরেঞ্জের একজন মুখপাত্র রয়টার্সকে বলেছেন, মিয়ানমারে কোম্পানির একজন কর্মীকে আটক করা হয়েছে এবং তারা এই বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত জানার জন্য জাপানি দূতাবাসের সাথে কাজ করছে।
এদিকে, টোকিওতে জাপানের প্রধান মন্ত্রিপরিষদ সচিব ইয়োশিমাসা হায়াশি বলেছেন, মিয়ানমারের বাণিজ্যিক রাজধানী ইয়াঙ্গুনে জাপানি এক নাগরিককে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করছে পুলিশ। সাংবাদিকদের সঙ্গে আলাপকালে তিনি বলেছেন, জাপান সরকার তার দ্রুত মুক্তির জন্য স্থানীয় কর্তৃপক্ষকে অনুরোধ জানানোর পাশাপাশি যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার প্রচেষ্টা চালিয়ে যেতে চায়। আর এই প্রচেষ্টার মধ্যে জাপানি নাগরিকের নিয়োগকর্তার সাথে যোগাযোগ অব্যাহত রাখা এবং প্রয়োজনীয় সহায়তা প্রদান করার মতো বিষয়গুলো রয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।
