পুলিশ প্রহরায় হামলা ন্যাক্কারজনক ঘটনা-মুখপাত্র, ঝিনাইদহে কোটা বিরোধী শিক্ষার্থীদের উপর ছাত্রলীগের হামলায় আহত-১২

ঝিনাইদহে কোটা বিরোধী আন্দোলনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের উপর হামলা চালিয়েছে ছাত্রলীগ। মঙ্গলবার (১৬ জুলাই) শহরের উজির আলী স্কুল এন্ড কলেজ মাঠে হেলমেট পরে এই হামলা চালানো হয়। হামলায় অন্তত ১২ জন কমবেশি আহত হয়েছেন। আহতদের মধ্যে আব্দুল্লাহ আল মামুন, কালীগঞ্জের মাহিন, স্টেডিয়ামপাড়ার শারমিন সুলতানা, সাথি খাতুন, আবু হুরাইরা, এলমা খাতুন, সাইদুর রহমান, রিহান ও আবু সাইদের পরিচয় পাওয়া গেছে। এরমধ্যে মাহিনকে ঝিনাইদহ সদর হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। আহত শারমিন সুলতানা জানান, কোটা বিরোধী আন্দোলনের অংশ হিসেবে মঙ্গলবার সকালে বিক্ষোভ মিছিল করার জন্য তারা শহরের উজির আলী স্কুল মাঠে জড়ো হতে থাকেন। এ সময় শহরের পায়রা চত্বর এলাকা থেকে ছাত্রলীগের একটি মিছিল লাঠি-সোটা নিয়ে পুলিশের বাঁধা উপেক্ষা করে আন্দোলনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের উপর হামলা চালায়। তারা হেলমেট পরে লাঠি ও লোহার রড দিয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের মারধর করে ব্যানার কেড়ে নেয়। এ সময় ভাংচুর করে মাইক। আন্দোলনকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা ছত্রভঙ্গ হয়ে গেলে ছাত্রলীগ সেখান থেকে মিছিল করতে করতে শহরে চলে আসে। হামলায় তাদের ১২ জন শিক্ষার্থী আহত হন বলে তারা দাবী করেন। এ ঘটনার পর থেকে এলাকায় থমথমে অবস্থা বিরাজ করছে। আহত আরেক শিক্ষার্থী ও কোটা আন্দোলনের মুখপাত্র মাহিন অভিযোগ করেন, পুলিশ প্রহরায় ছাত্রলীগের কর্মীরা তাদের উপর হামলা চালালেও পুলিশ তাদের কিছুই বলেনি। বরং তাদের সহায়তা করেছে। ঝিনাইদহ জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি সজিব ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক আল ইমরানের সাথে মোবাইল ফোনে যোগাযোগ করা হলে তারা ফোন রিসিভ করেননি। পুলিশের বক্তব্য জানতে ঝিনাইদহ অতিরিক্তি পুলিশ সুপার ইমরান জাকারিয়ার মুঠোফোনে একাধিকবার কল করা হলেও তিনি ফোন রিসিভ করেননি। তবে ঝিনাইদহ সদর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোঃ শাহীন উদ্দীন জানান, সকালে কোটা বিরোধী আন্দোলনকারী শিক্ষার্থীদের শহরের উজির আলী স্কুল এন্ড কলেজ মাঠে জড়ো হয়। সেসময় ছাত্রলীগের নেতা কর্মীরা একটি মিছিল নিয়ে যাওয়ার পর একটু উত্তেজনা সৃষ্টি হয়। এরপরপরই পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রনে নেয়।
