ঝিনাইদহ জেলা আইনজীবী সমিতির নির্বাচনে বিএনপি-জামায়াত সমর্থিত প্যানেল নিরংকুশ ভাবে বিজয় লাভ করেছে। নির্বাচনে ১৯০ ভোট পেয়ে মোঃ কাজী ইকরামুল হক আলম সভাপতি, ১৭৪ ভোট পেয়ে কাজী আলাউল হক আলো সহ-সভাপতি, ১৭৬ ভোট পেয়ে আব্দুর রশীদ বিশ^াস সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও ১৮৫ ভোট পেয়ে মোঃ রিয়াজুল ইসলাম রিয়াজ সহ সাধারণ সম্পাদক নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন। মোট ১৭টি পদের মধ্যে ১৭ টিতেই বিজয় অর্জন করেছে। গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকাল ৩টা পর্যন্ত বিরতিহীনভাবে কোট বারভবনে এ নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ১৭ পদের মধ্যে সভাপতি সহ ১১ পদে বিএনপি এবং সাধারণ সম্পাদক সহ ৬পদে জামায়াত সমর্থিত প্রার্থী জয় লাভ করেছে। তবে আওয়ামীপন্থী সম্মিলিত আইনজীবী পরিষদ নির্বাচন বর্জনের ঘোষণা দেন।
এছাড়া আশরাফুল আলম-২ হিসাব নিরীক্ষক, মুশফিকুর ওয়ালিদ ইমরোজ সাহিত্য সংস্কৃতি গ্রন্থগার, তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তি সম্পাদক, আনোয়ারুল কবির ক্রীড়া ও প্রমোদ সম্পাদক, মোর্শেদ ইমাম, ধর্মীয় ও আপ্যায়ন সম্পাদক এবং মোঃ মোশারফ হোসেন, মোঃ দবির হোসেন, মোঃ আবু তালেব, মোঃ আবু তৈয়ব, মোঃ শামসুজ্জামান লাকী, মোঃ আনোয়ারুল বাশার স্বপন, সাবিনা ইয়াসমিন, ইহসান উল্লাহ ও সরদার মোঃ মনিরুল ইসলাম মিলটন সদস্য নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন।
এডভোকেট তারিকুল আলম প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার, এডভোকেট পান্না বিশ^াস ও এডভোকেট রাকিবুল হাসান সহ তিন সদস্যের নির্বাচন কমিশনার এ নির্বাচন পরিচালনা করেন। নির্বাচনে মোট ৩২০ জন ভোটারের মধ্যে মোট ২০৭ জন ভোটার তাদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ করেন। নির্বাচনে বিএনপি জামায়াত ঐক্য পরিষদের সবুজ প্যানেলে ১৭ জন, আওয়ামীপন্থী সম্মিলিত আইনজীবী পরিষপষা প্যানেলে ১৭ জন ও স্বতন্ত্র গণতান্ত্রিক ঐক্য ফন্ট প্যানেলে ৩ জন প্রতিদ্ব›িদ্বতা করেন। তবে আওয়ামীপন্থী সম্মিলিত আইনজীবী পরিষদ নির্বাচনের সুষ্ঠু পরিবেশ না থাকার অভিযোগ তুলে নির্বাচন বর্জনের ঘোষণা দেন।
