দাবি মানা না হলে ‘ঢাকা ব্লকেডের’ ঘোষণা বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের
বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনের সাবেক সমন্বয়কদের উদ্যোগে নতুন ছাত্রসংগঠন বাংলাদেশ গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্রসংসদের আত্মপ্রকাশ উপলক্ষে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আয়োজিত সংবাদ সম্মেলনে হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে বেশ কয়েকজন বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থী আহত হন, পাশাপাশি নারী শিক্ষার্থীদের লাঞ্ছিত করার অভিযোগও ওঠে।
ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এ হামলার প্রতিবাদে রাজধানীর বাংলামোটরে সড়ক অবরোধ করে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের একটি অংশ। শিক্ষার্থীরা জানিয়েছেন, যদি হামলার সুষ্ঠু বিচার না হয়, তাহলে তারা কঠোর কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করবেন।
বুধবার (২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি) রাত পৌনে নয়টার দিকে একদল শিক্ষার্থী বাংলামোটর মোড়ে একপাশের সড়ক অবরোধ করে, ফলে কারওয়ান বাজার থেকে শাহবাগ অভিমুখী সড়কে যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। প্রায় এক ঘণ্টা পর রাত ১০টা ৫৫ মিনিটে তারা সড়ক ছেড়ে দেয়ায় যান চলাচল স্বাভাবিক হয়।
বিক্ষোভের নেতৃত্বে থাকা বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনের সম্মিলিত বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখার আহ্বায়ক এম জে এইচ মঞ্জু বলেন, নতুন বাংলাদেশ অর্জনে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের গৌরবোজ্জ্বল ভূমিকা ছিল। কিন্তু তাদের ওপর হামলা করা হয়েছে, যা কোনোভাবেই মেনে নেয়া যায় না। হামলার বিচার না হলে বৃহস্পতিবার (২৭ ফেব্রুয়ারি) বিভিন্ন বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে বলে জানান মঞ্জু। তবে, যদি হামলাকারীদের বিচার না হয়, তাহলে ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি ‘ঢাকা ব্লকেড’ কর্মসূচির ঘোষণা দেয়া হয়েছে।
