অপরাধের কারণেই বিএনপি নেতা-কর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা হয়েছে: প্রধানমন্ত্রী
বিএনপি নেতা-কর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে কোনো রাজনৈতিক মামলা হয়নি বলে জানিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। তিনি বলেন, সবই অপরাধের কারণে হয়েছে। বিএনপির দাবি অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশে যত অপরাধ হয়, তার সবই করে তাদের নেতা-কর্মীরা।
কৃষক লীগের ৫২তম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে শুক্রবার সকালে (১৯ এপ্রিল) গণভবনে সংগঠনটির কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সদস্যদের সঙ্গে শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় শেষে এ কথা বলেন তিনি।
শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, বিএনপির ৬০ লাখ নেতা-কর্মী গ্রেপ্তারের দাবি করছে, কিন্তু দেশের জেলগুলোতে এত ধারণ ক্ষমতাই নেই। বলেন, তারা বাস, লঞ্চ, ট্রেন জ্বালিয়ে দিলে মামলা তো হবেই। তবে এসব কোনো রাজনৈতিক মামলা নয়, এগুলো অগ্নিসন্ত্রাসের মামলা, দুর্নীতির মামলা, গ্রেনেড হামলার মামলা।
আওয়ামী লীগ প্রতিশোধপরায়ণ না বলে বিএনপি কথা বলার সুযোগ পায় উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন, আমরা প্রতিশোধ নিতে ব্যস্ত থাকিনি, আমরা মেধা কাজে লাগিয়েছি দেশের উন্নয়নে।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, একসময় যারা নুন-ভাতের কথা বা ডাল-ভাতের কথা চিন্তা করতে পারত না, এখন তারা মাছ-মাংস-ডিমের কথাও চিন্তা করে। ফলে যারা সরকারের সমালোচনা করেন, তাদের সেগুলো মাথায় রেখে উন্নয়ন হয়েছে কিনা তা বিবেচনা করতে হবে।
