ঝিনাইদহ শহরের আরাপপুর এলাকার আলোচিত রাবেয়া হাসপাতালে সিজারিয়ান অপারেশনের পর শারমিন (১৯) নামে এক প্রসূতির মৃত্যুর ঘটনায় তদন্ত কমিটি গঠন করা হচ্ছে। আগামীকাল রোববার তিন সদস্য বিশিষ্ট তদন্ত কমিটি কাজ শুরু করবেন। এ তথ্য জানান ঝিনাইদহ সিভিল সার্জন শুভ্রা রানী দেবনাথ। তিনি বলেন, রোগীর মৃত্যুর ঘটনায় সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ও পত্রপত্রিকায় সংবাদ প্রকাশের পর স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগে তোলপাড় সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে মন্ত্রনালয় থেকে আগেই নির্দেশনা দেওয়া আছে। উল্লেখ্য গত সোমবার রাবেয়া হাসপাতালে অজ্ঞানের চিকিৎসক ডাঃ রেজা সেকেন্দার শারমিন নামে এক প্রসূতির অপারেশন করার পর তিনি রক্তক্ষরণে মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। শারমিন হরিণাকুন্ডু উপজেলার হরিশপুর গ্রামের শহিদুল ইসলামের মেয়ে ও শৈলকুপা উপজেলার মির্জাপুর গ্রামের আলা-আমিনের স্ত্রী। এর আগে রাবেয়া হাসপাতালের এক চিকিৎসক মৃত ব্যক্তির ডাক্তারী সনদ নিয়ে দীর্ঘদিন রোগী দেখে আসছিলেন। খবর পেয়ে ২০২২ সালের ২০ আগষ্ট র্যাব ও সিভিল সার্জন অফিস যৌথ অভিযান চালালে ওই ভুয়া ডাক্তার পালিয়ে যেতে সক্ষম হয়। এদিকে ঝিনাইদহ সিভিল সার্জন অফিসের তত্বাবধানে সারা জেলাব্যাপী ক্লিনিক বাণিজ্য চলছে। ক্লিনিকগুলোতে আইন কানুন বা নিয়ম নীতির কোন বালাই নেই। ডাক্তার ও নার্স না থাকার পরও কি ভাবে এসব মানহীন ক্লিনিক রেজিষ্ট্রেশন পাচ্ছে না নিয়ে প্রশ্ন দেখা দিয়েছে। অভিযোগ উঠেছে সিভিল সার্জন অফিসের কতিপয় অফিস সহকারী মাসিক চুক্তিতে এ সব মানহীন ক্লিনিকের ফাইল তৈরী করে ঢাকায় পাঠিয়ে থাকেন। ফলে সেখানে রোগীর মৃত্যু হলেও কোন শাস্তি সাজা পায় না। বহাল তবিয়তে চিকিৎসক, নার্স ও ক্লিনিক মালিক অপারেশন বাণিজ্য চালিয়ে যান।
