চুয়াডাঙ্গায় ১৮ দিন ধরে অব্যহত রয়েছে তীব্র থেকে অতি তীব্র তাপমাত্রা। সোমবার (২৯ এপ্রিল) চলতি মৌসুমের সব রেকর্ড ভেঙ্গে চুয়াডাঙ্গার তাপমাত্রার পারদ উঠেছে ৪৩ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াসে। এখানে বাতাসে বইছে আগুনের হল্কা। সোমবার বেলা ৩ টায় চুয়াডাঙ্গার সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা ৪৩ দশমিক ০ (শূণ্য) ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে। এ সময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ১৩ শতাংশ। বাতাসে জলীয় বাষ্পেন পরিমাণ অনেক বেশী থাকায় ভ্যাপসা গরম অনুভূত হচ্ছে বলে জানান চুয়াডাঙ্গা প্রথম শ্রেণীর আবহাওয়া পর্যবেক্ষণাগারের ইনচার্জ জামিনুর রহমান। আর এই দাবদাহে সবচাইতে বেশি বিপাকে পড়েছে দিন মজুর খেটে খাওয়া রিক্সা ভ্যান চালকরা। চুয়াডাঙ্গা সদরের ভিমরুল্লা গ্রামের ভ্যান চাকল আয়নদ্দি (৫০) জানান, রোদ গরমে কি আমি ঘরে বসে থাকতে পারবো? পারবো না। ভ্যান না চালিয়ে দুবেলা দু মুঠো ভাতের ব্যবস্থা না করতে পারলে বাড়ির সবাই না খেয়ে থাকবে। এদিকে অতি তীব্র তাপদাহে গলে যাচ্ছে সড়কের পিচ। পানির স্থর নিচে নেমে যাওয়ায় চুয়াডাঙ্গা অধিকাংশ গ্রামে টিউবওয়েলে পানি উঠছে না। আবার পানি দিয়েও রক্ষা করা যাচ্ছে না মাঠের সবজি আবাদ। শুকিয়ে যাচ্ছে সড়কের ধারের নিমসহ বিভিন্ন ফলজ ও বনজ গাছসহ গাছের পাতা। চলতি গ্রীষ্ম মৌসুমের শুরু থেকে দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রার রেকর্ড হয়ে আসছে এই জেলায়। একটানা ১৮ দিন তীব্র থেকে অতিতীব্র দাবদাহে হাসপাতালে বেড়েই চলেছে জ্বর, নিউমোনিয়া, ডায়রিয়া, শ্বাসকষ্টসহ বিভিন্ন রোগে আক্রান্ত রোগীর সংখ্যা। চুয়াডাঙ্গা প্রথম শ্রেণীর আবহাওয়া পর্যবেক্ষণাগারের ইনচার্জ জামিনুর রহমান জানান, গত প্রায় ১৮ ধরে চুয়াডাঙ্গায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা বিরাজ করছে। সোমবার (২৯ এপ্রিল) সকাল ৯ টায় চুয়াডাঙ্গার তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে ৩৪ দশমিক ৪ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস। এসময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ৪৯ শতাংশ। দুপুর ১২ চুয়াডাঙ্গার তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে ৪০ দশমিক ৬ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস। এসময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ১৬ শতাংশ। বেলা ৩ টায় চলতি মৌসুমের সকল রেকর্ড ভেঙ্গে সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্র ৪৩ দশমিক ০ (শূণ্য) ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে চুয়াডাঙ্গা। এ সময় বাতাসের আদ্রতা ছিল ১৩ শতাংশ। বাতাসে জলীয় বাষ্পেন পরিমাণ অনেক বেশী থাকায় ভ্যাপসা গরম অনুভূত হচ্ছে। শুক্রবার (২৬ এপ্রিল) বেলা ৩টায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্র ৪২ দশমিক ৭ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস এবং শনিবার (২৭ এপ্রিল) সন্ধা ৬ টায় দেশের সর্বোচ্চ তাপমাত্রা ৪২ দশমিক ৭ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস ও সোমবার (২৮ এপ্রিল) তাপমাত্রা ছিল ৪১ দশমিক ৮ ডিগ্রী সেলসিয়াস চুয়াডাঙ্গায় রেকর্ড করা হয়। তিনি আরো জানান, জেলায় হিট এলার্ট জারী আছে। জনসচেতনায় জেলা প্রশাসকের পক্ষ থেকে প্রতিদিনই জেলাজুড়ে মাইকিং করা হচ্ছে। আজ পর্যন্ত চুয়াডাঙ্গার তাপমাত্রার পারদ সর্বোচ্চ ৪০ থেকে ৪৩ ডিগ্রীতে উঠা নামা করছে। এপ্রিল মাস জুড়েই এ অবস্থা থাকবে। তাপমাত্রা আরো বাড়বে। সকলকে সাবধানে থাকার অনুরোধ রইল।
